Jonathan Capehart and Ruth Marcus were pushing the narrative that Donald Trump was laying the groundwork to contest the 2024 election if he lost by falsely accusing his opponents of cheating. Capehart brought up the example of Bucks County, but after Ruth Marcus misled viewers by dismissing Trump’s complaints, Hewitt unloaded. “So, that lawsuit was brought by the Republican National Committee and it was SUCCESSFUL.” “The Supreme Court ruled that Glenn Youngkin was SUCCESSFUL.” “We are news people, even though we have opinions. And we have to report the whole story if we bring up part of the story.” “So, YES, he’s upset about Bucks County but he was RIGHT and he won in court. That’s the story.” Jonathan Capehart then complained about being lectured, despite clearly misleading viewers. “I won’t come back, Jonathan,” Hewitt exploded. “I’m done!” “I’m done,” he said as he walked off-screen. “This is the most unfair election ad I have ever been a part of… I am done.” Bravo. THAT is how you deal with dishonest journalists.
