Trader Talk Thread šŸ’±

Know you are really into the psychology of trading and I am in the process of learning by looking at candle legs, volume, ect. Time constraints and the fact I am not a patient person makes me better at scalping than anything else. Two truisms come to mind: ā€œMans got to know his limitationsā€ ā€“ dirty harry and ā€œwhen ya learn to scalp, its like having the keys to the ATM machine - ya just reach in and grab a handfulā€ ā€“ Stuā€™s book on profitable FX trading ideas. :joy:

BTW At the beach most of next week and the next, so taking a break from trading and all other mental activities!

Iā€™m jealous!! Know you more a mountain - ski gal than beach gal. I am a completely wild eyed beach bum. Post couple pictures where U at ā€“ Iā€™ll do same next week. :beach_umbrella:

Know few had that feeling yesterday when Trump tweeted bout China and market had a conniption fit! Little tension in those that donā€™t believe in stops!:nauseated_face:

That is a darn good indicator! :joy:

Atlantic is bloody cold but 35 deg today.

At the moment I am with IG. Being in the UK I am subject to ESMA trading rules, so my maximum leverage is about 33:1, and worse if I try other stuff like CFDs on shares or commodities.

So I am thinking about going back to Dukascopy, where I was always very happy with their platform and service ā€¦ except that you had to pay for anything and everything. With IG I can get get money out the same day with no charges. With Dukascopy I always had to pay wire charges ( I think ), which are small at least, and there was a 48-hour lag. Also you can have your account in any currency you want from a selection of about six or seven IIRC. From the USA you probably need to use a VPN to get around the recent legislation.

Oanda are pretty sound. When Thomas Jordan pulled the plug on the Swiss Franc peg Oanda were one of the few to survive without suffering major damage to their business. unlike FXCM

edit: I liked LMAX too, except their charts were unimpressive when I was using them. Their order processing is really slick and you have a view of a few useful commodities such as oil and gold.

WOW! Beautiful! Is that 35 Feh? (nice leg, too)

I was with FXCM when that happened. Happy with Oanda. I have 100 to 1. Have you looked into using them?

I had an Oanda account a few years back. I found them pretty good except at news times such as the NFP when the spread yawned. It was good to be able to trade any size of contract that you might want, such as $2500 just for example.

Water doesnā€™t get that warm here in South Carolina. Folly bout 88 Feh at the moment.

Thatā€™s the air temp, not the Atlantic! Have another glassā€¦ :joy:

I was in North Carolina at the beach one summer and the water was cool in the morning around 10-11am. Then within minutes, while I was in the water, it got warm yet the air temp barely changed. I noticed that the sea current from before was from the north but it had switched to a southern current. :sailboat: :sun_with_face: Nice. :slightly_smiling_face:

We had 34C in the UK today!

Over 28 deg C in the UK is grossly unpleasant. 34 deg with the humidity is horribly sweaty.

27 degrees C and dry here in Washingtonā€™s suburbia.
Life is good!
