Well ā¦ this turning into a saga. Back in September (?) I bought an SV1000S that had been rear-ended with the intention of fixing it up and selling it. That was actually fairly straight forward, exhausts from the usual place, footrest hangers, persuasion on the bent bits and it was running and MoTād. Whereupon youngest son nabbed it with a promise to pay market rate for it, and by the way we can sell my 650. (he really enjoys riding the 1000)
At a similar time I bought another SV1000S, a runner with a few problems, and with the same intention to fix it and sell it in April/May. I rode it home. Well that is now ready to go but ā¦ after new head races, generator cover off and repair the bodge stator-fitment by previous owner, and (Christ, look at the brake seals poking out around the pistons) rebuild of the front calipers, better fix the exhaust leak causing a pop on over-run, and the rear brake lever which turned out to be nearly seized on its spindle - but freed off Ok.
In the schedule was service to the calipers on my VFR ā¦ now done. Also I wanted to fit another hugger to replace the one fitted by the dealer which I took (broke) off as described above, seriously need a new front tyre. I think thatās it for now.
So to the 20-year-old 650, which was a runner and in near daily use, back tyre was almost a slick and ājust needs a bit of cleaning upā for sale. Regulator is not working, hitting the battery with 18V above 5000rpm, weep from around the water pump (now fixed by youngest son) but spawned a slow dribble from the clutch cover which did not completely respond to a new O-ring (so I have now gooād it, fingers crossed), and broken exhaust stud now fixed my youngest plus the exhaust joint clamp under the engine fell to pieces ( Ā£2 ), need to replace the gaiters on the front floating calipers and ā¦ how the hell were those brakes ever stopping you? New caliper pistons and seals sitting in a box on the back seat waiting for me to fit them, trying to get it all sorted before the MoT expires near the end of this month.
Around all this I am managing my stocks portfolio and trying to trade.
Sounds you nowhere near retirement mate. I had just about rather bite the dust than sit on my butt all day with nothing to do. Got all home building work my son and I can handle and I get up early and trade 10 - 15 hours a week.
What a great week last week and this. Flat on EU at the moment. Think she be retracing a bit - maybe up to 960 - 980. Have no interest in longing her at the moment. Waiting for opportunity to reload shorts. I think EU, because of a booming US economy and virus fears may drop EU 300 so pips in next few weeks. HaHa - my ideas and a buck quarter will get you a nice, hot cup of joe!
Hope yāall got a cup of joe, cause my idea sucks. Thought she woulda retraced by now. Thought it was starting early morning here. Great week last - good week this so waiting for a entry I like. Still thinking we gonna see a steep drop if we get a decent retrace.
About as much as any of our ideas mate ! Out of our hands. Try your idea where you deem to be least risk for you and fire the shot. When it was around 1.12/1.11 I thought we would see 1.22 before where we are now The one thing I do know is it fills in the gaps to get paid. Like here now I see low risk opportunity, it might hold I have no idea, if it does could be nice trade if not, wait for the next level and fire another round off
The other refusing to let go of the disc, but I prevailed eventually, and then the pad retainer was seized in its blind hole. So I summoned the culprit who extracted it with annoying ease! Must have been the 3-in-1 I poured all over itā¦
I agree. The US economy is on fire. We have a leader. I think the virus is playing and will continue to play a big part of trader sentiment. I just donāt see the Euro gaining much traction in the near future.
I should imagine this could seriously do some damage to LSE ? Maybe it becomes the bargaining chip to keep us close in this years negotiations of the final picture of BREXIT ?
I have been watching some of this develop, it appears the E.U. have a clever (slightly underhanded) negotiating stick with this regulation.
However I wouldnāt count out the moguls of the financial world in the U.K. they have been driving the markets for a very long time and have some very clever minds and people in high places at their disposalā¦
