WASHINGTON â Ivanka Trump, the daughter of former President Donald Trump, and her husband Jared Kushner have been subpoenaed by special counsel Jack Smith, ABC News has learned.
The subpoena for the couple is specifically related to the special counselâs probe of Jan. 6 and the activities leading up to that day by the former president and his allies regarding efforts to overturn the 2020 election, sources told ABC News.
Ivanka Trump and Kushner worked as senior White House advisers to President Trump during his four years in office.

A federal judge on Friday squarely placed the blame for the Jan. 6 Capitol attack on Donald Trump, suggesting that the former presidentâs role in seeding lies about the 2020 election â and the effect it had on his followers â has been an underappreciated part of the entire episode.
Judge Amit Mehta issued his commentary as he delivered a 14-day jail sentence to Jan. 6 rioter John Lolos â a sentence Mehta said he shortened in part to reflect the fact that Lolos was responding to Trumpâs call.
