The theory to support semiconductor development required an understanding of the structure of matter, specifically the atom. That understanding was not achieved until the early part of the 20th Century. The transistor followed shortly after.

Efforts to invent transistor (or whatever it was to be called) were underway for decades in more than one country, if not centuries.

They certainly haven’t solved the radiation problem in the van Allen Belt.
Nonetheless, if you fly in an anti-gravity vehicles, you can somehow circumvent the problem.
That’s how the Russians and Americans traveled to the moon as early as 1950s and built a joint moon base.
America picked up a lot of such technology from Roswell, while Russia (USSR) had a number of UFO crashes in its territory from which it could build its own space corps.
From what I heard, the crop circles in southern England are designs of hardware parts a certain civilization (who is working with the government) requests for its space ships. There is British aerospace/military industry right next door to these wheat fields.
