Agreed, the teacher makes all the difference in the world. I had a history teach that absolutely loved the subject and it was her mission to make sure her passion rubbed off on as many of her students as possible. She made it a most enjoyable hour. It worked for me and remains my chief interest.

That is interesting about the moon. I had always assumed that the moon collided with earth and left a dent called the Pacific Ocean. If the moon was chipped-out by an asteroid that was one hell of a collision.

Ok … what is needed here is a little engineering understanding.
It is not necessary for the heart to pump blood up 15-metres of neck to reach a dinosaur’s brain. The heart merely circulates the blood. All that is required is that the blood is ‘there’.
It is true that, if the blood system is connected all around the dinosaur’s body, the blood vessels at the lower extremities would have to survive some elevated pressures. However the heart is buried somewhere within the body, supported by all the bones and other ‘stuff’, and is acting like a central heating pump, it just recirculates the fluids. The reason that it might have to be ‘big’ is because it would have to shift quite a volume of blood around a large body.
Finally … the blood vessels in a dinosaur’s legs might be quite small or narrow. This would allow them to sustain higher pressures with a reduced risk of rupture. It is only when the blood vessels are near the skin that damage is likely … as with human varicose veins.
