The Rabbit Hole

Because there are grain fed cows.
They are rapidly fattened up with grain-based feeds, usually made from a base of soy or corn. Typically, their diet is also supplemented with small amounts of dried grass.

@Jen if you look about half way down the document which Asar posted you will find Wernher von Braun in the shot of some relaxed staff in the Apollo control center.

Here’s some interesting information of how beef is affected by what the cows eat.

There’s a bit on UK beef toward the end.

You guys always talk about food.

Now that’s food for thought!

See I already ate. After you eat you really don’t care about food because serotonin and melatonin is released in the blood stream. A very relaxing combination of hormones.

‘‘Showbiz CHEAT sheet’’ - REALLY??? ROFLMFAO.

I’m glad you asked that q

An Average Diver, at an Average Depth, With an Average Tank

From an experienced scuba diver(not me btw)
‘‘Based on personal experience, an average open-water certified diver using a standard aluminum 80-cubic-foot tank on a 40-foot dive will be able to stay down for about 45 to 60 minutes before surfacing’’

Armstrong was on the moon for over 2 hrs so presumably he had a much bigger tank.

Now I’m not an expert but aren’t scuba air cylinders pressurised?
Ok so Armstrong is walking on the moon with a huge airtank on his back so he can breath and that tank is compressed air. In a vacuum?
Surely, wouldn’t it just explode?
Have you ever seen what we need to do on earth to create a vacuum - you would need to have something similar on the moon wouldn’t you???

There are some people in this thread, arguing sciency type stuff, who clearly have no engineering appreciation at all.

Beef in the UK is terrible. We eat them far too young, 12-18 months old I believe. There is no flavour and the meat is chewy, however you cook it, blue, rare, incinerated
but I guess it’s ok stewed for a long time. Not that I go for any slabs of meat - not my thing. The only place in the UK that serves good beef is Cornwall and that’s because they come from the Duchy estate, I think.

France gets it right, like everything else to do with food. Their cattle is slaughtered far older. They are concerned about taste, we are concerned about profit.

Yeah, for example how a plane could by brought down by a few geese yet they can go thru a steel building like butter. With engineering mental gymnastics only on one day 18 years ago and never again.

So why don’t you enlighten us instead of always bitching? - I have admitted a number of times that ‘‘I only know one thing’’

Not arguing just asking q’s

Must stretch your imagination beyond logic and ignore reality to appreciate such rocket science engineering claims. Must obey without questioning like the faithful. Questioning is verboten!

ps. And please ignore the little man behind the curtain who said “Pull it” or the other one that said “We lost all our 30 year old technology cause we taped over it”.

Some people
 ok many
get fat because their satiety hormone, leptin, doesn’t work very well, supposedly. So you see it’s not their fault for being lazy greedy bastards; it’s their hormones! :stuck_out_tongue:

Grain is actually plant seed.
A staple for birds, basically.
Cows are herbivores, grass eaters, that is.
How can you expect to have “normal” cows who get grains instead of grass.

Rice, wheat, barley
all grains which give nothing but starch. OK, tiny bits of vitamins.

Humans started eating starch big time only a few thousand years ago with the advent of agriculture, and that’s where everything about human got weird, including health and metal status.

A lot of B vitamins actually if you include the husk and of course fibre.

What do you mean by weird? Diseases? Cancers? What was a good life expectancy for a caveman, if they didn’t get killed by a woolly mammoth or froze to death first? About 30. Cancer is an old people’s disease. Ditto many other conditions. Our life expectancy is the best it has ever been! Of course things are more likely to go wrong with an older body. You can’t be comparing an 80 year old with a 30 year old.

Four meals a day is better. Eating starchy carbs for your 4th meal helps you sleep better

That is just wrong in so many ways

I have some ribeyes, fillets and veal chops in the freezer. There is nothing better than a charred on the outside red/pink on the inside ribeye.
