Still no lively Brexit discussion, C’MON people. We don’t get good press on this in the USofA.
That’s because we’re bored to death with the theatrics. Fact: it is written in law that we are leaving on March 29th. To overturn that will need an act of Parliament and the approval of 27 EU member states. Maybe the latter is the easy part, but May has made it clear there will be no extension to Article 50 and many MPs are holding her to that. So, no I doubt if there will be a new act. We are just holding out for March 29th and if for any reason we get shafted, London will be ablaze with yellow vests out in full force.
I hadn’t heard that she said that. Trumps post on Twitter with Dems talking about the need to control immigration, and Obama calling it a crisis, along with their funding for a border fence - he’s letting everyone know they’re hypocrites.
Anyone see this?
BBC quoting a WTO expert saying the UK might not have to put up border infrastructure in Ireland:

BTW I haven’t had a wet-shave in over 30 years…
Personally I am now waiting for the massive stitch-up. We have no politicians in the driving seat who are capable of thinking outside the box. It baffles me why there is no recognition of the fact that we just need to run our own country and get on with making the trade-ties that are favourable or necessary.
There seems to be a complete misunderstanding of the fact that the EU needs us maybe more than we need them. The UK is going its own way. Our leaders seem to adopt a negative view of the divorce. In my view divorce is probably an accurate model because there is almost always one party trying to hang on while the other party is trying to break away. In the case of the UK there are infiltrators, EU indoctrinates, camped in number 10.
Maybe this will clarify things…
I got the Philips one blade, and haven’t wet shaved since. It’s wonder product, you can take long hairs off down to nearly wet shave level without the pulling that you get with the electric razor or blade. Best purchase I’ve made in years because it means I spend far less time shaving and have far less skin irritation.
My gut feeling is that we will be stitched up, but there lies the conflict I have with myself. Article 50 is enshrined in law. I can’t see how… unless of course May now comes up with something half plausible and all the MPs start going soft and say, “Ok let’s give her more time.”
There is enough time to pass a new Law that repeals the first Law, or modifies it in some way.
I heard Michael Gove speaking about the opposition leader during the no-confidence debate.
He has gone up slightly in my esteem.
I like May, thought she was a good choice for PM, but she has promised too many things to too many people. Something has to break.
She should have resigned, the Leavers were right, we needed a Leave PM who believed in the Brexit.
The negotiations should have been along the lines of what Mervyn King said, no deal is default position, and we work from there.
He was excellent, seen that myself.
She is the default PM. At the last leader-contest, when it came to voting time, she was the last (wo)man standing.
I have not resolved for myself whether Boris whimped-out. Boris is a popular figure but it looks more as though JRM is the correct choice. I hope he gets a chance.
U.K. GOVERNMENT COMMITTED TO LEAVING EU ON MARCH 29: SPOKESMAN - BBG *U.K. TOLD EU IT DOESN’T WANT TO EXTEND ARTICLE 50: SPOKESMAN
Yo, brotha! You can watch Sky online for about 5 minutes and get all of that schit you can stand.
I had not forgotten this, which is why I said that possibly Boris whimped out.
I am reaching the conclusion that Boris is a good champion but may not be a leader.
Yes, it’s like a divorce wherein there’s a big settlement paid followed by a lifetime of alimony.
I could stand the initial settlement, but the alimony is legalized extortion and subjugation to slavery…
