No I suppose not, but it does give pause to ones who are making these decisions and whether or not they are cognizant of things like these or if they don’t really care and to create as much chaos as possible.

It’s good to have some food stashed for some weeks, no matter where you live. If you don’t have access to potable water, get a water filter (which does not require electricity)
I have the mountains and a community I can go to. Nepal is as good a place as there can be!
Funny you mention Nepal. A friend of mine went to Nepal a couple of years ago. He left his hotel in the morning, hiked in the mountains and came back in the evening and there was no more hotel. A big earthquake hit Nepal and collapsed the hotel. Lucky he wasn’t there when it happened.

Yes, I know what you are talking about. I was on a hike that took me 12 hours to complete and as I went to find my hotel I crossed over former towns that were no longer towns due to a Earthquake destroying them some years ago.

Sheesh, it was big.
It was in 2015 and I guess it was around that time my friend went to Nepal. (I don’t know exactly why he chose Nepal but he wanted to smoke something unusual there too. LOL)

That is probably the one. I was there over a year ago doing the (Nepal Himalaya) Langtang Mountain Valley hike. One of the most challenging hikes of my life.
I search and always try the Gongo!
