I didn’t hear that in this speech, I heard mandatory mental heath assessments and confiscation of guns of known threats and the usual tightening of background checks. I didn’t hear anything about gun control but it doesn’t surprise me that some liberals read that into what the President said. 
We need more guns in the hands of law abiding citizens and we need armed protection in public places, the solution is simple and it does not include citizens unable to defend themselves. JMO
That is what I heard too! The hysteria is deafening at times, but then again it’s good for gun sales on the precipice of a civil war! If I was a gun dealer I know I would be licking my chops at the prospects of exceeding my monthly quota!
It will always be effortless for some screwball to locate & acquire a firearm & ammunition. ALWAYS!

To claim that semi auto’s are not in common use other than in mass shootings is an absolute lie. They are the most popular, highest selling platforms on the market since the end of the AWB.
As for “dangerous” as in “dangerous and unusual” they are the least frequently used of all platforms in crimes.
The most commonly used weapon in mass shootings is the semi auto pistol, not so called “assault weapons”.
