The Ancient Dire Wolf is Brought Back to Life After being Extinct for 10,000 Years

Didn’t think this was possible, but this is a major break through in DNA Gnome sequencing technology.

You’re hearing the first howl of a dire wolf in over 10,000 years

Back from extinction

using ancient DNA from fossils up to 72,000 years old, Colossal reconstructed a full genome , through precise CRISPR edits, and brought this species to life.

The dire wolf returns after more than 10,000 years of being extinct.

The company looking to de-extinct the woolly mammoth, has brought back the dire wolf, which has been extinct for 13,000 years.

Colossal Biosciences, the genetic engineering company working to bring back the woolly mammoth, has actually already brought back two of its extinct Ice Age cohabitants: the dire wolf.

Romulus and Remus are genetically engineered modern wolves with around 20 genes edited to successfully mimic dire wolf traits.

This is both interesting and terrifying at the same time.

Jurassic Park comes to mind.

I actually read the novel by Michael Crichton a few years before the first movie was made, and I thought then it would be an interesting movie if there was a technology to recreate the dinosaurs on the screen.

I think they should bring back the Tasmanian Tiger, something that ignorance of man destroyed.

No need. I met a few Australians who say the Tasmanian tigers are alive and kicking.

One guy was a hitchhiker from Victoria (in the south) and he’s from a small place. He and his neighbors know where a family of them (a female and kittens, I guess) are living, but these good folks want to keep the whereabouts secret.

Another witness is from Queensland and she swears it was a tiger because dogs don’t have stripes and jump on a fence and walk on it.
