The 2022 Midterm Election Thread

I wonder if ever given thought to how long you think you will have on this Earth?

That fact that you stated previously to a poster here that you don’t care for their politics is revealing of the type of person you are. Intolerant of others who may hold views different from you.

Here is what I know, and what I will predict and guarantee for certain. You may not have the foresight nor the wisdom to understand this, but there is something about a certain truth coming to fruition as we age.

While you may gloat in superficial victories the ideologies you hold dear to you as religious beliefs today, are going to be same ones you will regret tomorrow.

Means nothing when a non believer says it. In fact when one rebukes another as what you just did, it usually means it will be you who will see the fruits of your animus!

Warnock will win the runoff, lily white voters in rural Georgia mountain counties won’t turn out to just vote for Walker…

Not counting Fetterman because that is yet to be litigated in the courts!

The biggest loss for Democrats and this a one is big! :grinning:

Great discussion on NPR’s On Point this morning about the election, including how much of the media and pollsters did not listen to what America was clearly saying. Heather Cox Richardson and Detroit political reporter Stephen Henderson brought forward a lot of terrific insights.

The discussion is full of great stuff! Highly recommended to listen to a recording of Magna Chakrabarti’s On Point today.

Just one of the great insights: all but one pollster did not take into account the astonishing number of new voter registrations this year in the Gen Z cohort. (I will add that in places like Michigan, Election Day registration is a huge benefit to democracy). They didn’t poll the people who had no voting record.

In the discussion, they said that the growing problem for the GOP is that younger voters are showing up big-time, and vote predominantly for the Democrats . These voters are highly engaged, and they’re likely to continue to be highly engaged.

(My take: the massive swing to the far right led by TFG and aided and abetted by the GOP for the past six years has created a generation of active pro-democracy voters).

Zeldin shit the bed in NY.

Republicans ran a lot of duds across the nation in this election. Only have ourselves (as a party) to blame for the losses.

I am actually not convinced that she won legitimately! There are so many reasons that its hard to list here and another rabbit hole to go go down in. New York almost runs parallel to PA as that East Coast party machine of corruption. Hochul is also a WEF chosen candidate so that should tell you a few things. I am going to be looking forward to joining a new legal team soon that will be working to neuter her many anti gun legislation.

Republicans had Biden’s unpopularity and shit economy to run on which should have been more than enough to take control of both the House and Senate but Republicans completely failed. The very slim lead in the House will only ensure Biden, Democrats, and the media can blame Republicans for everything. Democrats have held the House, Senate, and White House since 2020 and they still blame Republicans for everything

It’s obvious now. The Democrats have cheated their way through another election, using voter fraud, ballot harvesting, and other dirty tricks to steal the win. This is just further proof that the Democratic Party is illegitimate and needs to be removed from power. They cannot be allowed to cheat their way to victory, especially when the will of the people is so clear.

They already blame Republicans for everything, so…

The worse thing Trump did was backed Dr Oz in the Fetterman race. A lot of people especially conservatives had to cut off their nose to spite their face in order to vote for a controversial candidate who voters didn’t trust due his statements he made previously on trans-surgeries for children, and 2A rights issue. He was highly unpopular at the time of him getting (paying for it) Trump’s endorsement. Not sure if some voters simply stayed home due to not wanting to vote for Dr. Oz which resulted in Fetterman winning.
