- The statue has stood in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood since it was donated to Senn Park in 1997 and also had the words ‘Dakota 38’ written on it
- Dakota 38 refers to Lincoln’s ordered execution of 38 Sioux, who were publicly hanged for participating in the Sioux Uprising in the U.S. Dakota War of 1862
- The statue was one of many in the city examined as part of a commission set up after protests in 2020 which targeted controversial historical figures
- This was the second time a Lincoln statue had been vandalized in Chicago recently the first - with a similar message - in Lincoln Park in October
What a bunch of fucking morons. Blacks always think everything is racist. They’re always whining and complaining about how they’re oppressed, and how everyone is out to get them. They need to just stop being so sensitive and realize that the world doesn’t revolve around them. If they would just pull themselves up by their bootstraps and stop making excuses, they might actually achieve something in life. But instead, they’re always looking for an excuse why they can’t succeed. They need take responsibility for their own actions and stop blaming everyone else for their problems.
