Unless you have been living in a cave these past few days then you probably heard about the recent intel leak on social media app “Signal”. This in a sense is mind blowing to think that we have other secure channels for such conversations to take place among military planners and why they were not used is rather disconcerting to say in the least. What is also telling is the reporter who published this story is a well known Trump hater who is reknowned for publishing garbage with anonymous sources at the Atlantic. The social media APP “Signal” was also created and funded by the CIA which is a main reason why I stopped using it years ago. So it boggles the mind to think we as in Government officials have encrypted channels to use and why they were not is rather confounding!
What is even more troubling is the recent movement of the Airforce assets such as the B-2 bomber arriving at Diego Garcia, an atoll where our B-1 bombers have been operating out of since the Iraq war began. I am very familiar with this place having served there in my military deployment days and can say this is not a move that is taken unless something else is afoot such as a specific planned larger and consequential operation.
If the rumors turn out to be true about Iran being a possible target, then clearly that would damage Trump’s stance on being anti war as well as jeopardize the ongoing Russia Ukraine cease fire talks as Iran is an ally of both Russia and China, so bombing that country would certainly derail the trajectory of such peace talks.
I am hoping this is a fake story and nothing comes from it, but if true then more of it needs further scrutiny in order to hold Trump’s feet to the fire as to providing some clarification on what is actually going on in the anti-war narrative that he is so well known for.
