Should weed be legalized?

Have you had fentanyl? Not sure that most people can say no after the first couple times. I had one dose in a hospital. I know why it’s addictive.

Louman, I would assume that if the kids have access to mom and dad’s stash, that they are awful parents

and if they smoke it in front of kids that should be an indication that they are irresponsible people.

If they smoke it in their yard, garage is one thing and yes it does stink, but I would think most would be responsible pot smokers and subject others like myself who isnt into it.

It didnt use to stink.

the varieties and strength is almost endless now

Grow operations shouldn’t be allowed in residential zones.

That was happening before it was legalized and its just as potent in states where it isn’t.

Then punish the irresponsible parents, not me.

Dramatic?

from https://www.thecannabist.co/2018/02/27/legal-marijuana-rising-insurance-premiums-colorado/100053/

“In every state where recreational marijuana has been legalized, with the exception of Massachusetts, car insurance rates have increased,” he said. Between 2016 and 2017, premiums rose an average of 3.2 percent in states where recreational marijuana was legal, but only 1.6 percent on average in states with a full ban still in place.

More like, a little bit. Offset by the large tax windfall

Can get you fired where it isn’t legal as well, and land you in jail to boot.

You don’t have to smoke it. You can vape or eat or drink it.

Temporary phenomenon unless you started at an early age, for people who start as adults that effect is only present during intoxication or clears up after a relatively short period of abstention. And of course heavy alcohol use is even worse.

how bad does it effect people memory if they started young

I can’t remember

I do remember though that nobody is advocating legalizing it’s use by minors.

by any chance did you started smoking weed at a young age (joking)

I did, but I had plenty of IQ points to waste. Took a psychologist administered IQ test when I was around thirty, came in at 139. And was always in the 99th percentile of standardized tests. Stopped smoking when I had kids, might pick up using it again now that they are grown and on their own, if it’s ever legalized in my state. It’s currently decriminalized but I am not going to hit the streets talking to shady guys to score some. Wouldn’t work for me anyway since people frequently say to me, “you look like a cop”.

Cannabis is a cash cow. The only reason it isn’t federally legal right now has everything to do with money and nothing to do with “drugs”.

NO!

Just what we don’t need, another stupid idea.

You’re dead on there. The big breweries and distilleries have been lobbying Congress for years to keep marijuana illegal. It ain’t my thing, but I think folks should be allowed to smoke it if they want to.

And they aren’t very bright, I knew plenty of pot smokers who drank. In addition, pot can suppress nausea and keep you awake to drink more than you normally would or could. And they are starting to realize their fear was unfounded.

from Recreational Marijuana Sales Might Not Be Hurting the Alcohol Industry | Fortune

Recreational marijuana sales might not be having as large an impact on the alcohol industry as we previously thought.

A new study out Thursday, conducted by The Distilled Spirits Council, found that spirits sales in states that have legalized recreational marijuana have actually grown since that legalization.

Missed my sarcasm did you.

As a side note, the FDA is a Federal Government organization that approves all drugs.

States and local governments approve nothing nor should they as they test zipola.

Weed and whisky can give you the time of your life

I love terminating pot smokers. They are so self righteous as they say but it’s legal as they are escorted out the door with their last check.

Bottom line this broken society doesn’t need another device to escape their lousy lives. Instead of being stupid thy should look to improve their lives.

Who gives a shit about the state and local governments windfall when your insurance premiums continue to escalate.

I think all federal level marijuana laws and regulations need to be eliminated. It should be left to the states to decide.

That doesn’t bother me so much. If the Feds won’t round up local politicians who openly rebuke Federal immigration laws, when there is an expressly enumerated power listed in the Constitution for it, why the hell should I care if they’re selectively enforcing Federal drug laws, which there are no enumerated powers listed for to begin with?

Don’t kid yourself. That’s the only reason it was ever illegal in the first place.
