As you probably already heard that a plane crash happened in Aktau Kazakhstan coming from Azerbaijan on Christmas day with many reported dead and some survivors. What those numbers are it not entirely certain as conflicting reports on those vary according to sources.
Why is this plane crash significant? Originally it was reported that a bird was the cause of this plane crash, however after further review of videos taken of the crash site reveals that it may have possibly been shot down by an anti-plane surface to air missile.
The pilots did an amazing job to try to land the plane safely given the fact they were flying a brick without the ability to control the plane and quite possibly saved lives as a result. Its an unfortunate tragedy that happened on Christmas day of all days. Prayers.
By who? Russian air defenses possibly. More details below.
Similar holes could be seen on the Malaysian plane, supposedly shot down by Russia / Donbass militia in 2014.
But the real culprit was a Ukrainian MiG or Sukhoi,
I was thinking of posting this “accident” as a case of bird strike, but it was before the news about the holes on the plane came out.
I thought it was strange that the plane went all the way to Kazakhstan across the Caspian Sea, because the plane was only flying from Baku to Grozny.
If it is indeed Russia which shot at the plane accidentally, I would blame Ukraine which has been attacking Gorzny with drones and such.
They had to because of Ukrainian airstrikes that were happening in certain regions at the time. Still I find it strange that no one grounded any flights due to the risk involved.
On a Russian website I read a suggestion that the damage to the plane may have occurred over Chechnya, near the point of arrival, while repelling Ukrainian UAVs. The missile was fired from the Pantsir at the UAV, which was too close to the plane, so the shrapnel damaged the plane
The Russian media is still sticking to the “bird strike” narrative.
Hmmm, I wonder what they want to hide.
(Needless to say, Russian media including RT cannot be trusted 100%, but is much more reliable than the western counterpart)
