Saturday Morning Cinema: 100 Best Films of All Time (The Film Enthusiasts Thread) šŸ“½

One of the most talked about movies recently released is ā€œOppenheimerā€ which bombed in Tokyo. (no pun intended) But seriously what did they expect by releasing this movie in Japan to which is akin to picking at a sore or wound that is forever leaving a scar?

That being said, there is plenty of criticism to go around for Chris Nolandā€™s latest work and depending on what view you take will all have differing perspectives both good and bad.

Its an epic movie one that will be talked about for awhile for the story and the all-star castā€™s performances.

Donā€™t trust the reviews however, go see the film yourself and share your thoughts later.

The Movie ā€œBarbieā€ is pure brain cancer in movie form and illustrates exactly what is wrong with modern Hollywood movies that serve to trick people into watching only to propagandize their indoctrination of spiteful, man hating message.

Its hard to believe that Ryan Gosling Jr would debase himself by being in this film knowing he read the script and the role he played. Its a shame because this certainly will be a blemish on what was otherwise a pretty stellar acting career so far.

The before and after. What thy will do to get a part.

Margot Robbie in 2016ā€™s ā€œThe Legend of Tarzanā€ (left) and in 2023ā€™s ā€œBarbie.ā€

ā€œShe has had an upper bleph (esp removing some fat under her brow), undereye filler or other augmentation, a minimal brow lift, cheek augmentation, buccal fat removal, lip filler, nose job thinning her tip and reducing the width of her nostrils,ā€ she said.

ā€œBlephā€ is short for ā€œblepharoplasty,ā€ a surgical operation to correct disfigurations of the upper and/or lower eyelids. An upper blepharoplasty, which Harrell is claiming Robbie had done, can involve fixing drooping eyelids, repairing the muscle that opens the eyes and removing excess fat in the eye area.

They are prostitutes for a burgeoning industry of pedos!

Meanwhile, I found a really honest to good review of what this movie is really about!

A special movie:
Transgender star Hari Nef is featured in ā€˜Barbieā€™ and said the movie encourages ā€˜living your life and being in your body your way, on your own termsā€™

ā€œAs much as thereā€™s a celebration of femininity and being a girl in this [movie], I think thereā€™s also an encouragement of letting go of the checklist we ascribe to living and living your life and being in your body your way, on your own terms,ā€ Nef said.

ā€œIt most certainly is a feminist film,ā€ Gerwig said to ABC News Australia.

Star Simu Liu has also praised the film for deconstructing ā€œheteronormativeā€ gender roles about toys and colors. ā€œAnd Iā€™m so glad that this movie exists because I think it puts the final nail in the coffin of that very heteronormative idea of what gender is, and what is or is not gendered,ā€ he said during an interview with Screen Rantā€™s Joe Deckelmeier.

Co-star Issa Rae praised the film for sidelining Barbieā€™s male counterpart, ā€œKenā€, to be an ā€œaccessoryā€ for Barbie.

ā€œI think a Ken for me is just kind of there. I think a Ken is just a great accessory. Thatā€™s what I loved about Gretaā€™s imagining of Barbie is that the Kens are just supplemental characters to these Barbies.ā€

A lot of people are talking about this movie. I need to find the time, itā€™s 3hrs long!:weary:

I will not spend money to see this. Iā€™m sure it has sone funny jokes, but it is just another depopulation of the world brainwashing platform.

Indeed. Its much more sinister than that when considering what and how Warner Bros. marketed this movie by deceptive designs and targeting young people.

Martin Scorseseā€™s latest filmā€™ ā€œKillers of the Flower Moonā€ is a film that is about drawing attention to the murders and manipulation of members of the Osage Nation in the 1920s over their oil-rich lands.

It just opened here in Hong Kong October, 20th 2023 and looks to be one of Scorseseā€™s best films to date.

Tell us what you think after seeing this film!

I am intrigued! I love Japanese culture and its rich history of customs and passion for warriors and myth.

The review of this movie is going to be mixed. I will give my thoughts once I am able to see it for myself, but I thought I throw this one in here for perspective purposes.

The same. I found his story very fascinating and mysterious at the same time.

Pretty interesting documentary that deserves to be mentioned here. The story of the Shaw of Iran is not only a illuminating one, but one that hits on profound notes surrounded by one party that invited heads of state in the middle of the desert.
