It won Best Foreign film Golden Globes and numerous awards, but no Oscars.

excellent movie…watched three times

It was depressing and more indicative where the future of American society was heading.

Icestorm----I think I’ve seen that a couple times. I’ll double check

Last Picture Show–yes seen that a couple times. Pretty Grim…sometimes it bothers me when more recent films are made in black and white to be hip and artsy. I haven’t seen it in a long time.

Actually I think the movie is an honest depiction of rural America in the 50´s

That too, but it had a lot more layers than just rural America in the 50’s. There was the social issue of American society in greater perspective. Especially in places like small towns in Texas. I know these places, I have been there, and the culture is stagnate, boring, and always the same.

Yes Icestorm…I liked, watched it 3 times.

You maybe surprised, but Russ Meyers made some super cult films FASTER, PUSSYCAT! KILL! KILL!,Mudhoney, and common law Cabin, Remember “Beyond the Valley of the Dolls”

I haven’t seen that Coen Brothers film yet…I don’t think.

I’m still in the Romanian movie mode.

It is a super black comedy

I am not surprised I have seen these films and as a director his work is well known.

He was a WW 2 veteran

That sex scene with the doctor was mind shattering

I know what you mean! I am currently in KC 1950 with Fargo season 4. Chris Rock is superb and I am a big fan of Noah Hawley. He is a superb writer. Everything that guy touches turns to gold!

The Immoral Mr. Tees was the first flic I saw with nudity.

It was just great directing. I really like the way he frames all his scenes and is so minimalist.

I also noticed the atmosphere as extreme paranoia.
