Another good film I watched is ā€œHouse By The Riverā€ made in 1950 by Fritz Lang, perhaps slightly more obscure than some of his other films but itā€™s excellent.

The full film available on YouTube.

Not a film per say, but great interview of a great story teller Hemingway.

Orson Wells in another interview who is a great story teller himself.

A great film that I have just watched, another British gem ā€œThe October Manā€ made in 1947, a murder mystery/film noir starring John Mills and Joan Greenwood.

Full film available on YouTube, very good picture quality.

ā€œThe Killersā€ is a fantastic film, great performances from Sterling Hayden and Elisha Cook Jr.

I watched ā€œKillerā€™s Kissā€ a while ago, I will have to re-watch it.

ā€œThe Killingā€. There was another movie Called ā€œThe Killersā€ it was on TCM or recently or maybe coming up, Burt Lancaster I thinkā€¦canā€™t remember.

I remember sitting on the carpet, in front of the little bedroom TV watching the Killing. I had a deja vue the first time I watched. itā€¦like who made this movie? They were showing it on TV pretty quickā€¦in the morning.

The Killing was made so different from other movies it was a revelation.

ā€œThe Killersā€ yes 1946 an excellent film, Burt Lancaster and Ava Gardner, also Albert Dekker is in it and William Conrad who later was ā€œCannonā€ Itā€™s based on a short story by Ernest Hemingway.

They remade it in the 1960s, but not as good as the original.

Iā€™m going to rewatch ā€œThe Killingā€ perhaps I might do tomorrow.

ā€œKillerā€™s Kissā€ I will have to also rewatch.

Yes ā€œThe Killersā€ was a superb movie. Yes it does feature Burt Lancaster. I watched that movie as a feature in film class while in college.

Has anyone sen this film yet? Jim has been absent from the scene for quite some time, and glad he is reappearing again. Such a meticulous actor.

Also want to put this out there as this could be fun to do.

Lets say 2 weeks before Christmas, we each list 10 of the best movies this year and then have a vote on it. If you are game, just vote in the comment sec.

The only film I know of, that I want to see is Tenet.

I havenā€™t seen any new films that stick in my mind. 1917 was good, but grading on a curve, none of the new films Iā€™ve seen in the past year meant much to me.

Except, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

I havenā€™t seen a single one of the top ten grossing movies listed on Wikipedia, Except Invisible Man which I didnā€™t care for.
There were some movies I watched, that were okay, but none meant much except Once upon a Timeā€¦which is my favorite Tarantino

Very interesting interview with Mike Wallace and Rod Serling. Its weird seeing Wallace smoking while the cameras are rolling. My how times have changed.

Also watching Rod Serling speak, his facial expressions as he is speaking seems rather surreal.

Maybe the best film ever

Just watched the Strange Love of Martha Ivers. Interesting seeing a young Kurt Douglas.

One of my favorite scenes from 'Once Upon a Time in the West"

Thatā€™s a fantastic film and I think it was officially Kirk Douglasā€™ first film.

Yesterday I watched another good British film ā€œDear Murdererā€ made in 1947 and starring Eric Portman and Greta Gynt. The British made some excellent Film Noirā€™s.

The full film available on YouTube with a very good picture quality.

Back to Kirk Douglas, he was in one of my favorite Film Noirā€™s, it would be in my Top Ten films ā€œOut of the Pastā€ made in 1947 and starring Robert Mitchum, Jane Greer, Steve Brodie and Rhonda Fleming in a bit part (she died recently at the age of 97) another small piece of trivia is that the last thing Jane Greer ever did was appear in"Twin Peaks" (the original from 1990) as Vivian Smythe Niles.

Here is a trailer.
