Well it all looks like it’s going in the direction Gates and Fauci want it to go. I guess that the devil looks after his own?

Is everyone supposed to be following social distancing recommendations or not? There’s a particular group of privileged people that refuse to allow anyone to tell them what to do…they refuse to wear a mask, or distance themselves from others. They’re too shallow to understand the difference between government control and rules for a global pandemic.

What say you?

It will be interesting to hear the views of those who are not personally joining the prevention/containment campaign when they catch the virus. Who will they blame - not likely themselves.

The Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard has released a report ‘Pandemic Resilience: Getting it Done’ that outlines a roadmap for decision makers about how to deal with the pandemic, advocating for a TTSI (test, trace and supported isolation) strategy which is similar to what was done successfully in S. Korea, NZ, and Taiwan. It has a system of breaking the country into Green, Yellow, and Red areas with more stringent precautions as you move from green to red. As of May 8, there were no Green areas left in the country. It makes specific recommendations for testing levels and numbers of contact tracers needed based on death rates and rates of known cases. One controversial will be they say the number to be used is excess deaths, not the known Covid-19 deaths.

The committee overseeing this obviously tried to recruit some conservative and libertarian voices as there are people from the economics department at George Mason University and also people from Niskanen Center. There is an oped in the WaPo about it today if you want to look.

No doubt one can quibble with the methodology or specific recommendations, but it is a good planning document for decision makers as it has specific advice with indicators for how to go from green to yellow to red and back. It is something that if there was a useful leader of our nation, the task force and CDC should have produced weeks ago.

You may find the information interesting as it has estimates of ‘active infections/100000 people’ and ‘one our of every x# of people has covid-19’ in tabular format for different parts of the country.

What is most interesting to me, and is often being overlooked is how does a place like HK with an estimated population of 7.4 million manage to only have 4 deaths and reported 1000 cases and New York with a population of 8+ Million manages to have over 348 thousand confirmed cases and 22,000 confirmed deaths? The leader of our nation has nothing to do with poor mismanaged governance at the state and local level in places like New York!

Anyone who wears a mask will a) have their oxygen intakes severely restricted, and b) be constantly inhaling their own body toxins. I thought that was widely accepted; obviously you haven’t heard, or don’t believe.

Anything coming from Harvard is suspect

Trump has done everything he can based upon the information available at the time he could. I think he’s done a damn fine job including letting the Governors decide what is best for their state.

My Governor, DeSantis, made some unpopular moves which no doubt saved many lives in our state (such as checkpoints from those in NY and NJ fleeing to our state).

He has cautiously moved to open the state based upon the conditions and its working well.

Some common sense based upon data as it arrives as well as trusting people to keep themselves safe is how this should operate…

For the states that started re-opening a bit earlier, like Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Colorado, etc, there’s been no huge spike in cases, even as testing has increased significantly in each state.

Note: Yes, there have been pockets here and there, but supposedly nothing unmanageable with the resources available.

Yup. That is why there is revolt.

N: This is a Respirator Rating Letter Class. It stands for “Non-Oil” meaning that if no oil-based particulates are present, then you can use the mask in the work environment. Other masks ratings are R (resistant to oil for 8 hours) and P (oil proof).

95: Masks ending in a 95, have a 95 percent efficiency. Masks ending in a 99 have a 99 percent efficiency. Masks ending in 100 are 99.97 percent efficient and that is the same as a HEPA quality filter.

.3 microns: The masks filter out contaminants like dusts, mists and fumes. The minimum size of .3 microns of particulates and large droplets won’t pass through the barrier, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC.)

Material: The filtration material on the mask is an electrostatic non-woven polypropylene fiber.

People who reuses these masks and other forms of N95 masks could be inviting germs left from the masks. These masks are designed to only be worn once.

Why anyone is dumb enough to wear a used mask is beyond me.

Not just democrats.

A prescription is required. I’m sure Trump’s doctor wouldn’t prescribe this if Trump were at risk for the side effects.

Trump is on a roll for Hydroxychloroquine, shills in his administration support his claims. Secretary Wilkey (sp), states VA gives it service members all the time. He didn’t say for what. These guys as complete sycophants and moronic. The USA is clearly in decline with fanciful dilutions of success and exceptionalism. Sad.
