I was listening to the BBC world service last night and they simply mentioned how Trump is refusing to accept the results of the election.
Keeping in mind how unlikely people think it is trump will actually be able to reverse the election and remain in power, it was a wake-up call to think of it in that simple perspective: the U.S. President is claiming the election is fraudulent and demanding a second term. Maybe he will fail spectacularly, maybe he will concede, or maybe things will just fizzle out by inauguration. In the meantime, until perhaps noon on Inauguration Day (and likely after that, too, since Trumpism will live on and Biden is no savior) we are in very dangerous territory. Maybe nothing will happen, but I think we should not be so quick to dismiss the gravity of Trump’s refusal. Let’s stay alert
