The claim that Thornton Tomasetti changed standards and imposed new rules around rebar spacing and tolerance requirements that differed from the American Concrete Institute standards, which resulted in “excessively rigorous and unnecessary inspection” and massive overruns. Thornton Tomasetti defended its actions nearly a year ago, writing in a memo to the lawsuit that the subcontractors were “questionably qualified,” and the delays were due to their own shortcomings.DEI
The lawsuit frames this as systemic racism, but isn’t the real issue competency and accountability . And when has black taken accountability for anything ?
Does anyone remember the noose that was found on the construction site ? When found, the complete project was shut down. Everyone, including workers, stupidvisors, and upper management were forced to take sensitive training, and have proof that they took it. This shut down construction for weeks. The noose was never shown to the media. As it turned out, the so called noose was a rope that one of the workers had fastened around his cordless impact, so when he was working at heights, and if he did drop it, it would not fall to the ground. This was very similar to the garage door pull at Talladega.
The lawsuit frames this as systemic racism, but isn’t the real issue competency and accountability? It was not long ago there were some that said mathematics in public schools was racist.
$830 million for such a vanity project? Especially when Chicago is such a mess
