As predicted, no one wanted this Obama plagiarizing failure of a Mayor holding the highest office in the land. We also didn’t feel like having the first lady wear a suit.
Pete Buttigieg, who rose from being a small-town Midwestern mayor to a barrier-breaking, top-tier candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, is suspending his campaign.
Three people with knowledge of Buttigieg’s decision told The Associated Press he began informing campaign staff on Sunday. They were not authorized to speak publicly and requested anonymity.
His campaign said Buttigieg will speak Sunday night in South Bend, Indiana.
Pete Buttigieg has Coronavirus. He originally said he wasn’t dropping out of the race after the South Carolina primary, but then he started cancelling events because of a “cold”. Bear in mind that he’s also been doing around the whole country shaking hands with a bunch of random people. Coronavirus 100%.
Buttigieg earns goodwill from this. A guy who did the right thing at the right time. A willingness to face reality and make the best of it. There is lots of time for Buttigieg. He’ll grow from this, get better. His relations with the broader Dem coalition will improve over time. Dude did an outstanding job. And it’s good to have friends in high places. They’ll remember what he did here.
his voters have no option but to go to Biden. They certainly won’t go to Sanders.
I think it’s too bad that Mayor Pete dropped out so soon. We needed him to add chaos to the Dem primaries for as long as possible. (And to waste more Dem money.)
Why is someones sexuality indication if they are qualified to be President?
Mayor Pete’s campaign was all about testing the water and setting himself up for a future run. I doubt if he seriously thought he would ultimately be the candidate for 2016.
However his campaign was far more successful that he or anyone could have hoped for.
i judge a candidate on their character and ability to do the job. I do not care about their color, creed, race or religion. I do not even care if they are a Republican or Democrat.
Americans have forgotten or never took the time to learn that a President cannot make law or change existing Laws. The Constitution grants them NO authority to do so.
It really doesn’t matter who the President is or what unconstitutional Party they represent if the Houses are in order.
Well it does matter. The President is the head of state and represents the United States on the world stage. The President has the power of veto and he/she decides how laws will be enforced at the federal level. There are numerous other functions such as being responsible for selecting SC judges and Appointing heads of numerous federal commissions.
Love your title. Now we will miss Pete and his husband dancing at the inaugural balls if he would’ve been elected. About as possible as winning the Powerball Lottery. I wonder if his husband would wear a gown or a tuxedo. It would’ve been a Kodak moment .Would he have been called the first husband??? Some people here should get a sense of humor .
