The people organizing this protest are the Virginia Citizens Defense League. They want a peaceful protest.
The enemies of the Second Amendment are hoping some hot-air-spouting gun-waving crazies turn up and provoke violence, or at least provide good copy for the mainstream media. They’re probably going to be handing out Confederate flags and fake guns so that the event can be discredited.
Here is the VCDL statement:
IMPORTANT REQUEST: We need 10,000 patriots to fill the Capitol grounds for Monday’s rally!
Unfortunately, the Virginia Supreme Court just said they did not have enough information on the stay denied by the lower court to issue their own stay, so the Governor’s illegal gun-ban on Capitol grounds is going to stand for this event.
Here is what we need to do on Monday to make the rally a success:
DETAILS:
- VCDL needs at least 10,000 members/gun owners to commit to “taking one for the team’” by entering the Capitol grounds unarmed around 10 am and being in place for the rally by 10:45 am. Those who were lobbying will already be unarmed, so we urge them to be part of the 10,000 inside the fencing. NOTE: knives with folding metal blades less than 3-inches long are ARE permitted both in the General Assembly AND on the Capitol grounds.
- For every one gun owner on the Capitol grounds, we need another two to five people outside the Capitol grounds’s fence on 9th Street. Those doing so can be legally armed.
If you can commit to being one of our needed 10,000 unarmed members inside the fence, please help us by asking several of your family and friends to be your designated armed escort to the gates and to stand outside the fenced area to watch over us.
WHY:
We are separating our responsibilities, in this otherwise untenable and unconstitutional situation foisted on gun owners by Northam. Gun owners standing, both inside and outside of the fence, ensure that the Capitol grounds and the surrounding area is filled to capacity to hear our speakers and it will make a great visual for the cameras!
For those who are going to be on the Capitol grounds, the less items you bring along, the quicker and more efficient the screening. VCDL will have loudspeakers so that those outside the fence will be able to hear. The event will also be broadcast live on WRVA radio, 1140 AM /96.1 FM.
IMPORTANT:
We ask everyone to follow the temporary Capitol grounds rules. There is NO need for an act of civil disobedience to achieve standing for a court fight. We already have standing.
We still will have our day in court to fully debate the governor’s unconstitutional overreach in just a few short weeks.
Thank you very much for your support and understanding. The Governor and his cronies would like nothing better than to see the Capitol grounds empty, with the speakers talking only to themselves. We simply cannot let that happen.
PLEASE CHOOSE ONE:
- Arrive temporarily UNARMED and go INSIDE the fenced area on the Capitol grounds or
- Stand with us, LEGALLY ARMED if you so choose, just OUTSIDE the fence and watch over your brothers and sisters inside the fence

FINAL NOTE:
Monday is going to be a day of lobbying, with a peaceful rally. All law-abiding citizens are invited. The Capitol, State, and Richmond police forces will be providing strong security. We thank them in advance for helping make sure that the event is a safe and fun event.
I don’t believe that’s fair Doug. For one, people aren’t enemies of the second amendment, they’re frustrated to no end with gun related violence, and are demanding stiffer regulation and restrictions.
These are Americans just like you and everyone else but are fed up with the endless stream of mass killings of the innocent out to dinner or a movie theater, or out shopping, or at a bar or a concert. They’re concerned about their children’s safety at school.
Hopefully people follow these prudent guidelines and the event is successful and without incident.

The tyrannical leaders within state and federal govt will not stop to turn us all into either obedient farm animals or political prisoners. ‘Not protesting’ will not stop their march to this utlimate goal.
Accepting pacification is Low T. Stand up and fight. If theres ANY worthy cause to fight for, then let it be for your constitutional freedoms and God given liberty. Otherwise, a couple election cycles from now were gonna wonder how it became that first born sons are being forcefully neutered at birth or how we so calmly allowed state agents of these govt leaders to come into our domiciles and steal away any and all firearms.

Anybody remember this? It seems like a lifetime ago now, but I was at the one in Virginia in 2010, along with a lot of other men with slung rifles and mag carriers. I remember that it was peaceful and well organized, but the presence of heavily armed police was obvious.
Starting to look more and more like a boil and skim operation-trap, pure and simple. ALL the indicators are there. I understand that the intent of those attending aren’t to begin an armed revolt. Its to exercise their right to keep and bear arms. Unfortunately, the state does not appear to recognize or care about that intent.
I really hope nothing happens, but if/when it does, these people getting the treatment that the hopeful protesters of yesteryear’s Charlottesville received will be an amazing slap in the face to hundreds of thousands, if not millions of normies.
These are angry, unwoke, MAGA loving constitution worshipping patriotards who are on allowed social media. Who are accepted in polite society. Who have families, friends, and neighbors they interact with. Who still love Trump. Who watch Tucker. Who listen to Queen Anne. They think they understand how bad things are, but they are still oh so naive .
They have GoPros and cellphones, and are just itching to upload some sovereign citizen-esque videos to their Facebook accounts.
If something pops off - if ANTIFA or badgecucks are allowed to act with impunity - there will be literally thousands upon thousands of videos, hundreds of hours from various sources and vantage points. It will be impossible for the media to spin this in a favorable way.
More importantly, every single person there will know what they saw. What they experienced. They will feel the rage that many of us feel every day, of being told that your reality is a lie.
And then scales will have fallen from their eyes!
A rally does nothing. Legal and political action can do something.
Don’t dissuade them. Let them go. Encourage them to go. Let them feel the stigmatization of being labeled a nazi and the punishment of doxxing, firing, and becoming a non-person after “expressing their rights” and let them find out first hand why many of us are so fucking pissed.
Sheep will be sheep and will be herded to irrelevance. The others who stay away will live to fight another day.

The framers knew that their right to keep and bear arms prevented tyranny, which they lived under and fought a war to throw off. Now we have government leaders trying to to enact laws which once again make tyranny possible. How CAN YOU NOT expect people to rally/organize/fight against that??
I understand that their might be plants or rats embedded in these groups. However, by not rallying WILL NOT PREVENT the current government leaders from continuing to put their boot on our throats. Their agenda will continue on unimpeded as they continue taking over more major metro areas and accompanying legislatures and executive offices.
