I believe it was Yosemite Sam that used Jumpin’ Jehoshaphat quite often.
No, his partner the short guy, always used those biblical catholic references and turned them into a linguistic expression. Off the TOP my head I can’t cite them verbatim, but you could be right about Yosemite Sam, but in Car 54 he had his own one liners that were original.
Could be both. I hardly ever watched Car 54 because I considered it completely goofy.
You piqued my interest in trivia, so I searched…and found…

When I get a chance I will have to look at some episodes and pull some up. I can’t find anything that is quoted directly which surprises me. “Toody” is the character’s name along with Muldoon. Also Al Lewis who played Grampa Munster was on the show.
I loved Amos n Andy. The bazookas was a zookin.
It’s still running on ME TV believe it or not.
The Little Rascals was still running in Syndication well into the 70’s and 80’s.
It unfortunately could never survive in the current racial hypersensitivity and political environment today unfortunately.
They just ran a whole week of the color episodes and movies that followed the original series ending with “Return To Mayberry” which played Sunday.
What was great about much of entertainment in that era is it focused on how to be a good father heavily, something we badly need today.
I remembered how much I liked the Three Stooges and Buck Rogers, Never missed an episode when we finally got a TV in the house.
…and who can forget Sky King and Penny…flying a Cessna 310 named Songbird?
I remember Sky King. You can see old episodes on Youtube.
Can’t forget Alfred Hitchcock, that show was the da bomb!
I watch a lot of Hitchcock…every time it’s on. Usually, my channel shows 2 hours of it, followed by The Twilight Zone…then Mannix (which I don’t watch).
Yes the Twilight Zone, and Hitchcock. Good combo of entertainment.
I had a friend with a white '58 Impala with Little Miss One painted in black Old English Text font near the ends of the rear quarter panel. It had a recreational cam and three twos, along with some polishing and porting…would top out at near 150mph.
This friend rebuilt the 400cid engine in my Ford F-250 4WD 4speed floor shift truck after I sank it and bent 3 rods. I had my shop crew do all the work on the outside of the cast iron. He bored the block to 406cid, put in racing pistons and rods, put on a semi-highrise polished intake, lightened the fly wheel and added headers.
Even with a 2-barrel carburetor, it was a highway rocket ship. I hardly ever used grandma gear. With the 4.11:1 rear end, in 2nd, 3rd and 4th, it would wind out at 35, 55 and 105…but it would get to 105 in quick time. I used to embarrass Porsche drivers on the freeway.
My friend and his father sold engine rebuilding equipment in a big time manner. My friend was on the engine crew for Parnelli Jones at Indy. I miss my friend!
Does anyone remember M Squad with Lee Marvin?
