I guess I donāt see what you see from this. Itās his opinion, not fact. Throughout history, God has sent troubles (the serpents) to teach lessons. They had to look upon the lifted serpent and ask for healing. Lots of things in the Old Testament lead to/ make reference to Jesus. Jesus was lifted up on the cross to die for our salvation. He was lifted up to die for us, that we might be healed/have life after this one.
Looking for a reason to discredit the Bible and/or God is just looking for troubleā¦ IMO.
