I think so.
The Old Testament was synthesized from ancient Egyptian and Babylonian thoughts.
The New Testament is a new addition to the mix. Greek philosophy.
What about Jesus?
Sumerians were neither Semites nor Indo-Europeans.
What were they? We don’t know.
But Abraham and Sarah were Sumerians (by descent).
It is pointless if you advocate for getting rid of the Church. The entire point is to have and experience fellowship with other believers, so in essence your questions cancels out one of the essential tenets of Christianity.
There are churches that represent the teachings of Jesus more than others.
And there are churches that do not represent the teachings of Jesus at all.
I think the Orthodox Church (in Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, Georgia, etc) represents the teachings of Jesus more than the Vatican does.
That is quite possible cus I don’t think much of the Catholic Church as being a Christian one rather a political entity masquerading as a church!
Separation of church and state is a fairly new construct, developed slowly in Europe — I can’t pinpoint in which century — and accepted today in the west and Russia.
Even the German philosopher Immanuel Kant (18 Century) couldn’t openly criticise the Vatican and Catholic dogma.
In Islam, on the other hand, polity = religion.
Even in our time, there is such a thing as “the Islamic State” in Syria, although it’s financed by the CIA and Israeli Mossad.
