The left is in full meltdown over this despite the simple fact that there has been a long standing self-sufficiency requirement for legal immigrants or their sponsors. This is just about enforcing the law as it’s written.

I thought they came here and were a “net positive” to the economy? Somehow taking welfare and food stamps doesn’t strike me as positively adding to the economy.

Democrats do, they don’t get the part where it’s taxpayer dollars being spent or that about 70% or more of them will never have a net positive tax liability.

What’s crazy is they are crying about the legal immigrants getting welfare. I think it’s safe to say that the illegal aliens who are taking welfare probably outnumber the legal immigrants taking welfare 2 to 1.
