Denver Mayor Preaches ‘Stay Home’ For Thanksgiving While Boarding An Out-Of-State Flight

NOVEMBER 25, 2020 By Evita Duffy

Denver Mayor Michael Hancock boarded a flight to Houston Wednesday before Thanksgiving despite telling citizens not to travel and instead to spend the holiday with just their own household.

About 30 minutes before Hancock’s flight took off, he tweeted, “Avoid travel, if you can” in order to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Hancock’s spokeswoman confirmed he was traveling to visit his daughter in Mississippi and that his wife is already there.

Hancock’s Twitter is replete with similar public statements, especially as the number of Wuhan virus cases has risen and increased restrictions have gone into effect in Denver and across Colorado.

“As he has shared, the Mayor is not hosting his traditional large family dinner this year, but instead traveling alone to join his wife and daughter where the three of them will celebrate Thanksgiving at her residence instead of having them travel back to Denver,” Hancock’s spokeswoman said in a statement. “Upon return, he will follow all necessary health and safety guidance and quarantine.”

In an email to city staff on Nov. 18, Hancock said, “As the holidays approach, we all long to be with our families with person [sic], but with the continued rise in cases, I’m urging you to refrain from travel this Thanksgiving holiday. For my family that means cancelling our traditional gathering of our extended family.” Hancock also said anyone who travels out of state should quarantine for 14 days and that employees who cannot work from home will be forced to use their paid time off for the leave.

Democrat Colorado Gov. Jared Polis said Tuesday that 1 in 41 Coloradans is currently infectious with COVID-19, the highest level since the pandemic began. Denver and more than a dozen other Colorado counties were moved to “Level Red” on the state’s COVID-19 dial last week, meaning a surge of new rules and regulations, including a ban on indoor dining.

Hancock joins many Democratic politicians and health officials who have adopted a “rules for me but not for thee” approach to Covid policy. Government and health officials have told citizens to celebrate a “virtual Thanksgiving,” and if you can’t do that, limit guests, make everyone wear masks, stay away from each other, and have people bring their own food.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom and other medical officials broke lockdown orders this month at a top California political operative’s opulent birthday dinner at the French Laundry restaurant.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker was forced to return from his second home in Florida after reporters pointed out the governor was violating his own lockdown orders.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot were the only people visiting the salons in San Francisco and Chicago, respectively. Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser locked down residents while she attended Biden rallies. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo refused to wear a mask and self-quarantine, and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio went to the gym while everyone else was forced to do at-home workouts.

In September, a representative headline in USA Today declared: “Study Says Sturgis [South Dakota] Bike Rally Was A ‘Super-Spreader’ Event, Led to 260,000 COVID-19 Cases.” It later revised that figure downwards slightly – to 124. Yet even that number is just persons who got sick after attending the rally, the logical fallacy of “after this therefore because of this.” The 260,000 figures was just one of those countless computer models by activist researchers (in this case a German firm, IZA) whose words showed they had an axe to grind and wanted publicity. The report was subsequently shredded by apolitical researchers, including some called “epidemiologists” whose job it is to crunch such numbers.

The media:

The flip side of all this is that if light lockdown governors are reviled, then the totalitarian ones must be celebrated. And they are. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo earlier this year ordered Covid-19 patients to be placed into nursing facilities, then lied about it. And no, the mainstream media did not let him off the hook. As a result, as many as 6,600 people in those facilities died – many times more than the official total for the Dakotas. Yet the good governor has just received a special Emmy Award “in recognition of his leadership during the Covid19 pandemic.”

Why wasn’t he putting his mask on between bites?

The media and it doesn’t matter which source you chose:

On Tuesday, the United States reported there were at least 2,216 new COVID-19 deaths and approximately 178,200 new cases. Some states, despite strict coronavirus mandates and guidelines meant to prevent spread, are suffering from the most cases and deaths. Instead, however, big news seems to be focused on continuing to shame GOP politicians for refusing to completely shut down their states again.

Nearly every week in June and July, mainstream media news outlets singled out and slammed Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis for rising COVID-19 numbers as the state remained largely open and unmasked. Headlines such as “Florida shatters US record for new single-day Covid-19 cases,” “Florida’s governor just can’t seem to get it right on coronavirus,” “Florida Shatters Record For New Coronavirus Cases, Orders Bars To Close,” “Florida shatters records with over 10,000 new COVID-19 cases in single day,” “Disney World reopens even as coronavirus cases soar in Florida and across U.S.,” “In Florida, COVID-19 Death Toll Keeps Rising,” “Florida invited the nation to its reopening — then it became a new coronavirus epicenter,” ran rampant across news websites and broadcast programs.

Months after outlets such as CNN, NPR, the Washington Post, and others continually targeted Florida for increasing coronavirus cases, the corporate media ignored Illinois, which recorded 15,415 cases in just one day. That’s more than Florida ever reported in a single day, yet Florida is singled out for negative news attention.

“This is despite Illinois’ population being 40% lower,” Youyang Gu, creator of a COVID-19 projection website reported.

This is a really toxic video of a Trump supporter attacking a civil servant while they are quietly sitting and eating a meal with their family. It’s disgusting. Governor Murphy wasn’t doing anything wrong. People are allowed to eat in restaurants. People aren’t allowed to go up to others while they’re eating and start screaming at them with their masks off.

Your ignorance can’t be fixed. Perhaps look for another father figure to project upon because yours obviously failed you and for that I am truly sorry for your loss! Hope some day you can find peace!

The only hypocrisy here is from these lunatic Trump supporters screaming and spreading COVID at the one man in their state who is trying to get things back on track for everyone.

At the beginning of the lockdown I forgot to socially distance in a shopping queue and put some things on the conveyor belt without realising the person in front of me had not finished emptying his trolley the guy turned around and raise the voice and swore at me throwing my stuff back in my trolley along with the dividing poll for each customer I responded to this with a joke about not realising how much stuff he had in his trolley he ignored me giving me a dirty look and turned back around to the front of the queue one minute later he turns around and start shouting for me to get back not realising that I am a fighting Man of high calibre and I had already been considering bottle him as I had a bottle of alcohol in my trolley so I spoke to him like he was a child and told him to calm himself down by now he was making a scene and another people was watching either way I give him his social distanceas I am a decent member of society and like to follow the rules but judging he’s reaction to my aggression I had realise that he was not prepared to escalate the situation into a physical conflict as he was just attempting to bully someone using the rules as justification. This event took place in Aldi shop at the time you had to take your good to a shelf and pack your trolley there are to allow yourself social distancing from the cashier I didn’t have to this but I deliberately chose to stand directly next to the man to pack both of our trolleys worth of goods into our bags he responded like a child and would not look at me outside the shop but I made sure to stare at him whilst he was at his car he would still not look at me he was a hypocrite for starting a arguments with a stranger over social distancing believing he could intimidate me when in fact I was prepared to change his life and give him brain damage and even risk losing a finger to do so a common side effect of bottling someone I like to bully bullies he must have felt like shit at the dinner table that night but at least his still had his health even though he lost his pride

Amazing how the hate for your fellow Americans never seems to dissipate. And the left calls the right haters, apparently they learn from the left.

Are you seriously going to ignore his hypocrisy? This good enough for thee but not enough for me crap needs to stop with our elected reps. This fuckwit went to a BLM rally at the SAME TIME that he was limiting other gatherings and shutting down businesses. People are SICK of this shit. People like this continue to impose restrictions and then go about their life living high on the hog. You’ll notice they didn’t take a pay cut. This “Toxic” woman (I find it funny how morons ignore BLM, yet this woman cussing out a guy that DESERVES it is all of the sudden “toxic”) is tired of government mandates that never seem to impact high level government employees or their friends and family.

I had a lady walk up to me in HEB a few days ago after I pulled my mask down to get a breath or two of fresh air (it was literally down for 3 to 4 breaths and my hand was still on my mask) and put her hand on my shoulder and said “Honey, the mask needs to go over your nose.”… I turned and looked at her and said “I wonder, what does the CDC say about touching people? Mind your own damn business and keep your hands off of strangers. By the way, these things (and I took it off) are fucking useless. Go look at the data and educate yourself… HONEY.” Apparently she’s not used to her school kids talking to her like that, she had a horrified look on her face when I walked off.

I’m just DONE talking nice to people that are arrogant and talk down their nose to you. The funniest one was the liberal dolt that told me I shouldn’t talk to my black nephew the way I did (I was laughing at him because he had chicken and mac n cheese in the cart, successfully fulfilling the stereotypes for black and white halves)… I started out telling her to mind her own business and then my nephew broke it off in her ass…I don’t remember his exact words but he did work in white, liberal, guilty, racist, idiots, . . . and a few other words in there… I was laughing my ass off and the lady behind the counter had a “DAMN” look on her face. (She was black too). I guarantee that woman isn’t going to butt into a personal conversation again.

No one should “attack” anyone when eating a meal or at any other time unless it is self defense. And then the term “attack” takes on a different meaning.

No one should loot businesses or burn them down, either.
