Gov. Greg Abbott Says New Refugees Won't Be Allowed To Settle In Texas

Gov. Greg Abbott announced on Friday that his state will not accept new refugees this year, making Texas the first state to reject resettlements under a new rule from President Trump.

Trump signed an executive order in September, saying that states and municipalities must give written consent before refugees can be resettled.

“Texas has carried more than its share in assisting the refugee resettlement process,” Abbott, a Republican, said in a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday.

“Since FY2010, more refugees have been received in Texas than in any other state. In fact, over that decade, roughly 10% of all refugees resettled in the United States have been placed in Texas,” Abbott noted.

He added, “Texas has been left by Congress to deal with disproportionate migration issues resulting from a broken federal immigration system.”

He stated that approximately 100,000 migrants were apprehended crossing the state’s southern border in May of last year. And, in the 2018 fiscal year, he said, apprehensions included people from China, Iran, Kenya, Russia and Tonga.

Well I wonder if any of these fine Texas Christians are going to stand up and remind the Governor about what happens when you refuse to take in strangers.

How many refugees have you personally taken in?

Refugee resettlements are how we ended up with shitheads like Ilhan Omar in Congress. That’s not what the American people want.

Texas already accepts tens of thousands of dead broke refugees every year. Mostly from California and New York. The state doesn’t have unlimited resources.

If you want to help them so bad then go join the Peace Corps. If you are too lazy or scared to do that then you don’t really want to help them…you want everyone else to do it while you feel good about yourself for demanding it.

When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. (Leviticus 19:33-34)

Where does it say to pamper them and give them all of our money?

The “love them as yourself” part.

The U.S. State Department and George Soros are trying to flood our country with people to sink our economy and change our elections. Fight their evil and destructive plans to the best of your ability.

Here is another one all of you merciful “Christians” must have missed:

(Matthew 25: 31-46).

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ 46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” Matthew 25:31-46 (New International Version – NIV)

Yeah I don’t think that translates to giving up your money part. So you read the Bible now? You are now extolling the virtues of scripture because your a practicing Christian? Funny!

The words are plain, clear, and true. You have no authority to interpret them as you see fit.

According to who? You? Interpretation from a non believer such as yourself? Nice pivot as usual! I am still laughing at your attempt at levity with your phony virtue signaling!

Well, since Texas won’t take them, they won’t be mistreated by a Texan. Problem solved.

I did not make any attempts at interpretation as you did. I merely provided the words as they are that prove conservative “Christians” are hypocrites on this issue. Consider yourself dunked on once again.

Oh no I am not dunked, quite the opposite in fact as you trying to paint with a broad brush by castigating all conservatives as being Christians not only shows your obvious bigotry but your ignorance as well! Especially considering you are not a practicing Christian to use religious doctrine as a way to play the high moral ground is pretty hypocritical on your part! How stupid is that? Shows you are a passive aggressive troll looking for a rise! Grow up!

They aren’t taking anymore because Texas has already taken in more than any other state. Time to stop the phony blue influx of Dem voters. This has nothing to do with being a good Christian so cut the shit. We have our own people to take care of in this country. We can’t take care of every single poor person everywhere. We continue trying to do that and we will all be poor. We are already in massive debt that keeps climbing.

Have you no shame? Unless you yourself are willing to open your door, feed, dress, and house a stranger for a potentially indeterminate amount of time without any kind of government assistance then you can keep quiet and stop insulting Christians. All you are doing is virtue signaling and trying to give away other people’s money! Stop!
