Lawmakers expecting stopgap spending bill to be necessary to avoid government shutdown.
Will the GOP cave again ?
Why is it even necessary to introduce a bill to stop illegals from voting ?
It’s a federal crime for noncitizens to vote in federal elections. It’s also a crime under every state’s laws. Just enforce our LAWS !!! It’s also a deportable offense for noncitizens to register or vote.
Several Republican lawmakers have called on their colleagues to support attaching a bill that would safeguard elections and require proof of citizenship to vote on an upcoming stopgap spending measure due at the end of next month.
Prominent conservative Sens. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Mike Lee, R-Utah, posted on X this week pushing for the bill, which would require proof of citizenship before registering to vote in federal elections, to be tethered to a spending bill extension to avoid a government shutdown at the end of the fiscal year.
“There isn’t a good argument against attaching the SAVE Act to the September spending bill,” Lee said in one of several posts promoting the idea.
If anyone is dumb enough to think the dems opened our borders without planning on illegals voting also believe Mark Fuckleberg’s fabricated half-ass apology for swinging the election.
Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., unveiled his plan to avoid a partial shutdown in a private call with House GOP lawmakers on Wednesday morning .
Meanwhile, two sources familiar with the Tuesday House GOP call said questions were raised about what Johnson’s next step would be if the Senate sent back a “clean” CR with no attachments, and concerns were aired about how a possible shutdown would affect vulnerable Republicans.
When/if Trump wins, I would love to see Johnson ousted as Speaker. I don’t care what it would look like. I don’t care that it would two Speakers ousted. I want a hard nosed Consevative Speaker at the helm. I understand he/she would have/need to work with/make some concessions with the Dems, but the shit that goes on right now is just unacceptable.
Neither of them. While I like what they have to say, I don’t think they are effective in Congress. They are just mouths that roar with no bite. I don’t want one of the hard Right extremists for the job. I want a level headed, intelligent, solidly Conservative person that can work with others… including the Left. I like Chip Roy, but I don’t know that he’d be interested in the job. I’d have to do some research on it to come up with a few.
