House Republican leaders and GOP members from large blue states have agreed to increase the state and local tax (SALT) deduction to $40,000 in the party’s reconciliation bill, Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., announced.
“That is the agreement we came to,” Johnson told CNN on Wednesday, Bloomberg reported.
“I think the SALT caucus, as they call themselves, it’s not everything they wanted, but I think they know what a huge improvement that is for their constituents and it gives them a lot to go home and talk about.” What a joke !!!
“Conservatives are pushing for some balancing spending reductions,” Harris said. “We actually stopped negotiating just before midnight because we actually had a deal that was then pulled off the table. So, this bill actually got worse over night.”
Johnson on Tuesday had vowed that the House would vote by Thursday on Trump’s domestic agenda bill. Harris, though, said that isn’t going to happen.
Doesn’t this benefit the wealthy more than the middle class? Who can afford to pay enough SALT so they can deduct $40,000 of State And Local Taxes?
If blue state conservatives wanted to see better economic conditions for their constituents wouldn’t they be better off leaving SALT deduction low until enough people get mad enough to start demanding accountability for the spending, voting in other conservatives.
Why don’t they address the fact that their state taxes are too high instead? So blue sheep and RINO’s, what exactly does that do for the middle class? According to New York state tax rates, that only helps people making about $600,000 or more. In effect, you just gave rich blue state liberals a $30,000 pay raise.
This is like the student loan forgiveness, these blue states with their excessive state taxes are robbing the other states that have no state taxes…this is theft, this is graft
House Democrats voted against all of it — which clearly proves they want tax hikes on their constituents, open borders, and Medicaid for illegal immigrants.
The GOP Senate and House have a chance to check runaway deficit spending — not by ending it, but by doing what is possible to rein it in. We see absolutely no fiscal responsibility. All they do is try to find ways to tax us to death so they can continue their outlandish spending which in turns lines their pockets and makes us poorer.
Overall, the bill would add more than $3.3 trillion to the debt over the next decade with interest — including $600 billion in 2027 alone — and add more than $5.2 trillion to the debt through 2034 if made permanent.

A group of House Republicans are requesting Fiscal Year 2026 spending bills to include language prohibiting federal funding for transgender experiments on animals.
Republican Reps. Paul Gosar, Elijah Crane, Abraham J. Hamadeh of Arizona, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Brandon Gill of Texas, Nancy Mace of South Carolina, Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Pete Stauber of Minnesota and Troy E. Nehls of Texas are urging the chairman and ranking member of the Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies to prohibit transgender experiments on animals in its FY2026 appropriations bill.
House Republicans have requested the committee include the following language: “None of the funds made available by this or any other Act thereafter may be used for research on vertebrate animals for the purpose of studying the effects of drugs, surgery, or other interventions to alter the human body (including by disrupting the body’s development, inhibiting its natural functions, or modifying its appearance) to no longer correspond to its biological sex.”
I’d be interested in knowing who sponsored these grants. Someone had to ask for the money… and someone had to make sure they got it.

It still looks like they won’t have the votes. Johnson, Rand Paul, Hawley, are a “No”. One of the main reasons is that it does nothing to reduce the debt, but instead adds to it which in turn requires raising the debt ceiling again by another 2 trillion.

The Treasury Access Symbol (TAS) is an identification code linking a Treasury payment to a budget line item (standard financial process).
In the Federal Government, the TAS field was optional for ~$4.7 Trillion in payments and was often left blank .
This way dems can use funds for programs and funneling money to illegals , liberal causes , and slush funds . President Trump and DOGE will require TAS on ALL future payments made by the treasury . Thank God !!!

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is reportedly using Medicaid enrollment data, including immigration status, to pursue its sweeping nationwide crackdown on illegal immigration.
According to The Associated Press, the personal data of millions of Medicaid enrollees was shared this week with immigration officials despite an attempt by officials at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to BLOCK the data transfer.
Citing an internal memo and emails, the outlet reported that Medicaid officials objected to the sharing of the data .
