The German parliament has 630 spots and you need to have 316 yea votes to be elected Chancellor.

For the first time in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany, Friedrich Merz (whom Alex Christoforou calls “Blackrock Merz” for a good reason) did not get the required votes.
