Yes. That is true of any right we have. A right is meaningless unless it is freely exercised. When under suppression, it cannot be exercised if not defended.

If you’re a white male, straight, Republican,christian, conservative ( all races) then free speech doesn’t exist for you.
Nothing has changed, one has always been able to exercise their freedom of speech, but it’s never been without reprisal if it harmed or offended somebody. Say whatever you like, still, but be prepared to be ostracized, maybe excommunicated/disfellowshipped or fired if it’s nasty, offensive, personally insulting etc…
It exists for them only if they adhere to the agenda of the group they’re in. Once they begin to speak with a conservative tone, they are pressured to shut up.
