Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm (D) said Sunday that President Biden is considering tapping into the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve amid rising crude oil prices.

During an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Granholm told host Dana Bash that Biden is looking at every tool at his disposal to address high gas prices in the U.S.

Granholm noted that Biden had already asked the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries to increase supply, but it declined.

“That is going to increase the chokehold on access to affordable fuel at the pump, and so the president is looking at all of the tools that he has,” Granholm told Bash.

“What about the Strategic Petroleum Reserve?” Bash asked Granholm.

“That’s one of the tools that he has, and he’s certainly looking at that,” Granholm told Bash.

Granholm also warned Bash that Americans will have to pay more for heating this winter due to supply chain issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are in a slightly beneficial position, certainly relative to Europe, because their chokehold of natural gas is very significant. They’re going to pay five times higher,” Granholm told Bash.

“But we have the same problem in fuels that the supply chains have, which is that the oil and gas companies are not flipping the switch as quickly as the demand requires,” she added. “That’s why the president has been focused on both the immediate term and the long term.”

This woman is an idiot.

We wouldn’t need to tap into our strategic reserves if Biden hadn’t screwed with the pipelines and went after fracking.

This is pure crap. I’ve hauled fuel for years. Biden cut the supply and that’s why prices are through the roof.

Nothing but cold dark days ahead with this current administration. Where are his so-called 80,000,000 voters at on this situation?

President Biden didn’t cut anything. Trump was the one tapping the strategic reserves so he could flood the market with cheap energy products to artificially drive prices down just to make it look like he was “winning” at something. But, with all things Trump it was a sham.

Lol that wasn’t artificial lol it was actually real gas, real energy, real prices

That headline says he is CONSIDERING shutting it down. That means it hasn’t happened yet. Thanks for proving me right. Learn to read.

Lol gas will be 5 dollars nation wide soon, and he said he’s considering making it 12 a gallon? Are you on crack?

Are you smoking crack? He’s been shutting pipelines down and tightening supply since his first day in office!

Are you really this foolish? How much money do you want to pay to heat your home? Drive your car? Pay for food? If Biden shuts down this pipeline all those prices will explode. All that fuel will have to be brought in by truck or train (trucks to get it to the trains) making prices skyrocket. You clearly don’t know how a damn thing works.

Burisma Biden to the rescue…of OPEC & Russian oil interests.

Pretty funny as like a drop in the ocean.

Perhaps you have heard of the new regulations concerning methane, a product of oil production.

The hilarious part is agriculture is a larger contributor yet compliance to regulations is optional

Laying cold in the ground.
