Despicable! NYS to waive double jeopardy for people pardoned by Trump

We KNOW it won’t stand.

But, in the meantime, we are back to destroying people and their lives that come up against the democrat agenda.

How many have to be thrown to the wayside before they just give in, won’t fight and get in line?

I contend that liberals love to fight dirty…and that conservatives are generally more ethical. I think it relates to the degree to which religious standards are applied to everyday life…with conservatives practicing that to a much higher degree.

I agree with you, asaratis.

However, I would also say absent religious standards, there is a consistent standard that conservatives practice which is absent emotions. The ability to critically think and see the long game rather than the short. If NYS can do this than what does it mean if XYZ State wants to do it as well.

I’m not misrepresenting anything, read the dictionary jackass.

I have. Perhaps you should try it.

There are two definitions of precedent. One applies to generic happenings. One applies to law. We are talking about a newly proposed law that has never been tested in court. It has never been decided by a court. It is not a legal precedent.

Get over it.

legal precedent

noun authoritative decision, auuhoritative principle of law, case law, controlling law, established doctrine, legal doctrine, model, ruling, standard

Just stop. Nobody but you even mentioned "legal precedent.

You’re just making an ass of yourself flailing to cover up for your own unforced error.

I realize you’ll never give up trying to save yourself. I noticed you left out some of your mistakes in that multi-quote.

DMK is correct in saying we’re on the same page here. The NYS proposed law may set the tone for similar laws in other states, but it is far from being a legal precedent…the term that is properly applied to laws…such as we are discussing here. IIRC, this proposal is not even a law yet.

If it does become law, it won’t be a precedent until it is used in court to establish a ruling, thereby making it a precedent to be followed in subsequent similar cases to which the law is germane.

You may recall that I started this thread…not you. If I choose to be pedantic in discussing a legal point in my own thread concerning a legal issue, I shall do so.

Take your dismissive, know-it-all attitude and go play with Didgevillage.

You continue making an ass of yourself flailing trying to cover your own unforced error.

Nobody but you mentioned “Legal Precedent”.

By definition this law sets a precedent as it is unprecedented in US History.

Quit making an ass of yourself, you were wrong and remain wrong.
