Democrat U.S. senators and other party members are mulling convincing Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor to resign so President Joe Biden can replace her with another leftist judge before President-elect Donald Trump takes office on Jan. 20.
The 70-year-old Sotomayor, nominated by then-President Barack Obama in 2009, is the oldest Democrat-appointed justice on the court.
She’s also a life-long diabetic. In 2018, paramedics were called to her home after the justice suffered “symptoms of low blood sugar.”

Once again, they are reportedly considering whether to push 70-year-old Justice Sonia Sotomayor, a diabetic, off the bench. Dems eat their own !
That round of the conversation was met with accusations of ableism and even racism: How dare they suggest pushing the first Latina justice — a solid progressive vote — off the bench?
But this time, with the reality of an impending Trump presidency, those objections have fallen by the wayside. And some of those who called for Sotomayor to step down earlier feel the conversation has changed.
“I wish it were different, but I think that Democrats need to do a better job of holding on to the fear that they now feel the next time they are in a position of power, because we can’t shut down those conversations,” MOLLYCOLEMAN, the executive director of the People’s Parity Project, told us late last night.
Not that she has a Spanish sounding name that matters.

Joos are always over-represented at the S Court, nearly 1/2 of the bench at one point.

IMO… if there is one place left in America that should be totally politics free, it’s the SC of the USA. I really don’t care what political affiliation any SC Justice is, as long as he/she deliberates an issue with the Constitution as the guiding transcript.
