The USA was staying out of the war, and was only âsellingâ the UK weapons and stuff.
After Pearl Harbour the USA took a more involved role in WW2, as we know.
Initially the changes to WhatsApp will not affect UK users (nor EU users).
However now that the UK is âoutâ they have they ability to change this at any time.
