Deeper down The RABBIT HOLE 🐇

Worried abt the vax - maybe we won’t ‘‘have’’ to take it.

Yes

He sounds as though he grew up in an ordinary working family and has worked on, or acquired by association, a less-distinct accent.

Hello SP … there are no sane members in here

Personally … I don’t believe they would try a move like that at the inauguration ceremony.
More likely they will organise a meet’n’greet drive-by in Dallas or similar.

However if it could be achieved at the inauguration it would deliver a tremendous shock to the country.

Does that mean Australian English developed (grew) out one particular accent used in London?

In comparison with American/Canadian accents, I notice the lack of Irish or other British accents in Australian English.

I wonder why.

The thought emanated from listening to this guy talk about an email telling schools in Cali not to let them watch the live event.

  Good one !

6 a.m. Washington DC time.

A nerve wracking situation.
I’m sure things will work out in the end, but how long time will it take?

Hmmm

My understanding is that a large number of convicts were deported from ‘England’ to Australia, never to return. There appears to be no ‘Irish’ or other strong influence from other accents. I have not researched or examined to see if there are noticeable dialects in the parts of Oz.

There are parts of America where an Irish influence is apparent.

Australian English is pretty much the same everywhere.
(Very little regional difference.)

Yes, convicts were sent there, but it’s hard to imagine they were all from London.

I heard that care home deaths have rocketed since they started jabbing all the inmates… just coincidence of course.

Haven’t watched this one yet

I think there is a very small window of opportunity to stop Biden and if they don’t do someting before he is inaugurated it’ll be too late IMHO.
Once he’s president he will be in charge and can more or less do what he likes - the military must then do what he commands,
God help us if he does become president bc I think we will enter a world of hurt.
I am getting really nervous abt this shit and I don’t think most ppl realise what a big deal today is

We didn’t send Irish to Australia bc we needed them to build our canals LOL

Agree, I don’t see how anything can happen beyond today and fairly sure that Biden’s crew are fully aware of Q/Juan/Charlie etc etc

Unless, of course, the whole thing is just a show for the TV.

Trump has signed the Insurrection Act, so everything is in the hands of the military and the political ceremonies are just theatrics.

But quite a few Irish did go there late 19th century.
As you know down under, sheila means girl, because so many Irish girls were named Sheila.

Have you got proof of that Didge ?

Of course not.
It’s all hearsay.
Not much better than MSM news.

Ok I wasn’t sure as you said it with conviction, of course I’m aware of the hearsay but thought something had just dropped somewhere.
