How about having some successful small ideas before you go getting any big ideas there Bernie.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) lashed out at moderate Democrats on Tuesday during the second presidential debate, saying he was “tired” of his those “afraid of big ideas.”

Sanders, who openly identifies as Democratic socialist and was an independent prior to announcing his presidential run, made the comments when criticized by Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) and Gov. Steve Bullock (D-MT) over his climate change agenda.

Sanders responded by declaring he was “tired of Democrats afraid of big ideas” like the Green New Deal and holding oil companies accountable for global warming.

“I get a little bit tired of Democrats afraid of big ideas,” Sanders said “Republicans are not afraid of big ideas … they can bail out the crooked on Wall Street, so please don’t tell me we can’t take on the fossil fuel industry and nothing happens unless we do that.”

Socialism = “Big Idea”

Colonel Sanders, 2019

Bernie’s big idea is to get us to where we’re all starving and utterly dependent on the massive government he wants to create so he and his minions can then pick and choose who lives and who dies!

All socialists and central planners have big ideas unfortunately they never work for the ordinary guy they work great for the corrupt politicians who line their pockets.

Somehow the visual of Bernie “lashing out” involves hunched shoulders and a limp wrist.

I want the big idea of the socialist Green New Deal to bring us solar powered aircraft, the first of which is given free of charge to the DNC to shuttle them to their 2020 presidential primary.

I’d like to know what either party is going to do about crazy A.I…

All it is is repackaged “hope n’ change.” Bernie’s “revolution” ideas are completely misguided. All of the looney pie-in-the-sky nonsense he is proposing is going to end up being insanely expensive and will slow economic growth while making us fork over more of our money to the government at the same time. It didn’t work in Vermont and it sure as hell won’t work if Bernie gets into the White House.

Bernie no longer has to pretend to not be a Democrat to avoid hurting the party in elections. Now he and those like him want Democrats to stop pretending they aren’t socialists.

An AI that went rogue wouldn’t have to do anything to bring about the end of civilization, it would only have to sit back and munch digital popcorn while the Left did that.

The problem is not with Bernie but with the sick American system which works against democracy and modern parties. The US is the only country with the same dumb parties since the mid 1800s.

The system requires people to indulge in strategic (i.e. sophisticated voting). Even systems with fptp voting have more than two parties cf. Canada, the UK. And note too that Canada’s PC party (the founding party of the country) went out of business federally 15 years ago. Canada has Liberals, Conservatives, New Democrats (social democrats) BQs and Greens

Yes, Bernie would be a Socialist or a Social Democrat. He’d be Labour in the UK and not a Lib Dem (even the old Liberals were transformed by refugees from Labour into the Lib Dems).

So don’t blame Bernie, blame an ossified undemocratic sclerotic system.

@Rurudyne
A rogue AI could also suffer from far RW projection, just sayin’…they could be defacto fascists.

One issue, in terms of the underlying assumptions about the preemenince of the state and the ability of average people to manage their own lives without the elites are exactly the same between fascism and socialism or communism (that stateless guff of Marx’s was pure self serving BS of the worst sort, he knew exactly the sort of government and the oppression it would require to try to force human evolution given his note to Engels on reading Darwin … but it sounds better for the twits selling it to prattle about statelessness to those bring deceived). They are all of a kind.

Fascism’s great sin in the eyes of its even worse counterparts on the far Left was thinking big government needed partners in the form of big business to achieve a rationally structured economy. Indeed, it took all that neopagan racist claptrap that was Nazism to make ordinary fascism worse than any form of communism is without the help.

Fascism (which is bad enough to begin with) moreover isn’t any more inherently tyrannical than socialism or communism are, that too is self serving BS foisted by the Left manipulating definitions post war.

Classical American liberalism proper and Adam Smith economics rooted in what seems to work rather than some notion of rational managed economies, rooted in individual liberty, are no where in the arc between fascism and communism. The fundamental assumptions about the state and people managing their own lives are completely different.
