Collapse of the US dollar?

It’s the monetary system, stupid!

That’s because it’s completely propped up and is utilized in an outdated system. Capitalism was the emergent economic system that came from mass production, early global trade, and colonialism. It functions best when those conditions are met. Today though, we see a fairly different atmosphere than that of the 1800s. We have global trade, amazing automation, and hardly anyone labors in factories anymore. Instead people labor in what is called the Service economy. Such as healthcare, restaurants, grocery stores, etc.

Conversely, socialism was a moral response to capitalism’s simple existence. It offered better working conditions, solidarity among workers, etc. Though it hardly was a system to stand on it’s own, clearly shown by China and the USSR

With all that considered, seeing that we are moving our attention away from the means of production, we are now focusing on the implications of the service economy with an atmosphere of global trade, democracy, diplomacy, automation and information.

In this light - who dominates the market and who owns the means of production are outdated question that literally mean nothing today.

Tbh we should be asking questions like “who owns and should own Data?” “How much should we value transparency?” “What new models today best represent the environment of today?”

Another great question is about sustainability. How sustainable is our current economic system? How can we make it more sustainable? If we keep mass producing and creating literal tons of waste, it’s just going to ruin our earth. It’s not sustainable

There is something interesting today called “Doughnut economics” which focuses on the question of sustainability among other things.

It uses this idea of the Circular Economy., which is designed off of the analytical perspective of Complexity Theory if you are interested in learning more.

Andreas Popp claims sustainability is an illusion.
Economy needs not grow at all, given economic growth means more waste, more pollution, more environment destruction and more debt.

Socialism in the 20th century certainly was subterfuge for state capitalism.

Any one not wanting their worthless fiat dollars you can just send them to me.

The pyramid of the spectre called capitalism ONLY cares about the peak at the top - not anything below the top. The so-called “pyramid scheme” is exactly what capitalism is. The super-size-fatso aka Michael Moore embraces capitalism as long as it’s got a liberal cast behind it. So he’s got two-faces and is a hypocrite. Don’t get me wrong - the government would love to get a hold of google and Amazon and reap the rewards.

What we have in America today is a reverse Robin Hood system

The ultra-rich steal from the merely well off, the middle class and the working poor.

Sure, they throw you a few breadcrumbs as they run off with the whole bakery. Opposing this situation is not a matter of ‘I’ve got mine.’ It’s a matter of justice and honesty.

Theft is bad, and the theft that is occurring now in the USA is the greatest theft of wealth in human history.

I think many of us see the current government as basically a massive mafia operation - sure, they do some good things, they build a school here and there and hand out money where they think it will gain them favor (just as mafias often do) - but the end point is not to help people, it is to mask the massive wholesale theft of the hard earned meager savings of the bulk of the population, accomplished by tilting of the playing field in favor of massive corporations who operate in most markets as duopolies.

I wouldn’t rush to blame the governments of world or Trump Administration per se.
It’s the monetary system that needs to change (slowly) as Professor Senf points out.

Fort Sumner is where Billy the Kid is buried.

Depends on which Billy we’re talking about.

There’s a very good possibility it wasn’t the “Real Billy The Kid” buried in Ft. Sumner.

“Brushy Bill Roberts”, made a convincing claim to being the real Billy.

Pat Garrett, the man whom history credits with killing Billy was actually one of the few real friends Billy had and without an open casket public funeral the truth may never be fully known.

With my family having a lot of History in Central and Eastern NM and growing up very close to Ft. Sumner the “lore” was standard fare growing up. I ended up going to College just up the Road a few miles from Hico so I of course had to go down, go through the museum, even went out to where BB lived.

It’s hard to replicate or fake healed bullet wounds and BB had all of the wounds BTK was known to have had.

Unless it can be done through DNA we’ll probably never know for sure.

Yes I have heard of these arguments before, and I can’t say that I don’t find them interesting. I just know the grave I saw of Billy The Kid at the time I was visiting Fort Sumner was nothing I ever saw before. It was not only cemented over, but it actually had a steel rebar cage over it as well. I guess from the inscription as to why, many tried robbing the grave so many times.

This is how I saw it

Stop derailing the thread.

Yes Sir! My fault! I claim full responsibility! But just remember, He robbed banks too aside from the Lincoln county wars!

We are heading for a Depression. Our massive national debt is going to cause our government to default on its debt and collapse the government. Our social security that we’ve all been paying into isn’t going to exist. Our older people won’t have ANY savings and they will be so numerous that our younger people cant support them. The wealth inequality is awful. If we go into a recession much less a depression the bottom 60% will lose all holdings in the economy. The government wont be able to bail us out this time because they cant issue debt anymore. In addition climate refugees will pour into the country that we can’t support. We are headed downhill.

Total societal collapse is probably coming as the dollar continues to lose value and automation and AI replace the need for all of these soon to be worthless third worlders. Then urban centers turn into total hellholes of chaos and turmoil and governments begin to collapse. The little hats won’t do well in a society where people cannot eat and ethnic Europeans are the ones best suited to rise up again to reclaim their birthright. Prepare for this.

I just mentioned on another thread the ‘dire straits the American middle classes are in right now, and which is worsening by the day’. It’s a very thought-provoking Youtube documentary that I watched last night.

The dollar is not losing any value.

The American middle class is better off today than it has been in over 25 years.

Unlike you, they have to work.

And if they are successful as I have been they can retire at fifty.

I was born lower middle class and took advantage of every opportunity I was offered so I was able to.
