This story should not be surprising as most who have suspected China being behind a lot of nefarious activity when it comes to preventing another term of President Trump! While the media and Democrats want to focus on moo Russia Trump chooses to address the China problem!

China, on the other hand, has a HUGE upside to seeing Trump defeated. The tactic right now for them is to stall trade talks until 2020.

We’ve been funding their growth at the expense of our own workers and making our economy desperately dependent on them at the same time.
Forget everything else if we want but that has to be addressed as it’s a very serious national security concern.
If Trump gets reelected and has the coattails to win back the congress one of his priorities should be a bill protecting critical US industries and banning imports of essential defense related goods completely.
China is using our own money and economy to fund their eventual emergence as the world’s uncontested superpower.
How we can address their election meddling is troublesome at best. I’d love to see a bill passed ASAP banning all political contributions and lobbying by China across the board to include any companies controlled by the Chinese in the US.

One of the big reasons I have been on board with the tariffs. It IS a national security issue.
They are also quickly becoming a very significant military threat as well and that is why they are now not bashful about expanding their sphere of military control across the pacific.
They are definitely the biggest threat to the US on the horizon for as far as we can see yet the public seems blissfully unaware and/or in complete denial. Unfortunately our leaders are suffering from the same problem.

It turns out that we don’t need to do anything, but itself is unsustainable. The economy developments in past 30 years had a cost of irreversible environmental degradation. If you think the smog in China is quite impressive, well you should look at the river pollution, aquifers water pollution and the color of the coast line in China, too. You don’t want to know how we China imports garbage from other countries and bury in our own land so that we could make some money. China not only makes electronic products, but gathers most of the e-wastes from all over the world - which are highly toxic. The gap between poor and rich, the income/housing price ratio, the (local) government controlled legal system, the power-corrupted education system in all levels. Again, it wouldn’t sustain. It’s so sad that the country is collapsing in its own ways yet we don’t know to what extent, it would get to the tipping point.
It happened in Russia. It can happen in China. Who would have thought Soviet Russia would have dissolved without violent revolution?
Communist parties need to fade away. The essential character of the country would not be cured or revived overnight, but no one would want war and internal strife in their own land.
Well I am not necessarily disagreeing with you, but you have to take into account you are comparing two completely different cultures. Chinese in general play a zero sum game. There is no middle ground between war and peace when it comes to the Chinese. Russians on the other hand like to use more finesse when it comes to change in order to prevent mass chaos.
If they were going to attack, then end the war in an hour.
They could try anything. An EMP. Deepstate armies could join them. They would have to be crushed.
Otherwise, let the regular Chinese people kick out the CCP nicely.
