OMG! The religion of peace at work again! Another example of stone age mentality, when Iranian authorities traumatically amputated the hand of a thief. The thief in question had a long record and by miracle did not loose his head. At least in Saudi Arabia, they put you under full anaesthesia when they chop off your hand, but not in Iran!
