Yes. The essentially fiction of the high paying jobs for locals looks good on some politician’s resume. The locals will mostly get the grunt work.
If they even get that. A big company recently expanded in Oregon. The locals got the temporary jobs. All of the permanent positions were hired outside of the state or the country. At lower than the going rate.

I think it’s TERRIBLE that Democrats are focusing on her. Her constituents need to rally around her and recruit more just like her to run in the city. They should all be very, very vocal on the runup to '20.
We conservatives would NEVER withstand so many open socialists.

I wonder which one of her economics classes discussed pie in the sky projects like her medicare for all, jobs for all and green program which will cost 40 trillion and she came up with how to raise 2 trillion but couldnt explain where the 38 trillion was going to come from?

You need to understand that economics is not what Adam Smith first advanced.
Smith looked at actual people and communities, how they might reasonably be expected to behave as real people or communities rather than as idealized, and what they did or could do to make themselves more prosperous.
Smith studied Man (philosophy) and devised economics to suit Man.
Modern economics is often no longer really philosophy, they speak of rational economies rather than the mess of cumulative human endeavors, of the movement of pieces of paper and political management of economies, they far too often essentially, taking a cue from Karl Marx, pontificate about men being advised to suit economic ideology.
Economics is NOT a profession like accountancy is. You can reasonably check the figures set before you by any accountant just as a physician can reasonably look at a patient’s information and fairly judge the actions of another doctor or one engineer can check the work of another.
But with economists there is no way to test the soundness of their ideas, sometimes even long after they’ve shuffled off of this mortal coil. The Left, with Marx, also shows how though the work of an economicist can be the worst sort of crap (literally) that even then people will refuse the see it for what it is.
In short, the idea that economists have a good claim for credentials is laughable. You cannot check the actual merits or likely effects of their work! May as well give credentials to lawyers … oh, wait…
