Look at you armchair quarterbacking how the police restrain people. You don’t know what the situation was or what he was doing and he wasn’t a small guy.
I personally only approve of this because he was a criminal piece of shit who was resisting arrest.
Did the black man act properly ? How do you deal with someone who is violent and intend you harm ? How many bullshit accounts about “gentle Giants” have we hear ? Travon posed with many pistols and yet they found a picture of a 5 foot 12 year old Travon to the world when in fact he was 6 foot and a thug .
Okay legal expert, define for me what excessive force is. If the police give you an order and you refuse to follow it and you continue resisting arrest the police may use whatever force necessary to stop you from resisting.
That does not follow the protocol of law. He was unarmed, there were FOUR armed and trained cops. They were fired because they used unnecessary excessive force…
A police officer has a privilege to slay or to forcefully restrain any person resisting arrest. That is well founded common law inherited from England. They could of sprayed him with tear gas, or popped him on the head or simply tackled him. It was totally unnecessary to smother him to death. There will be an coroner investigation as to legitimacy of the killing (that is normal in any killing).
He was handcuffed and on the ground. Any threat to the officers or the public had been neutralized.
The U.S. Supreme Court established that a police officer who has probable cause to believe a suspect poses a threat of serious harm to the officer or others may use deadly force to prevent escape. ( Tennessee v. Garner , 471 U.S. 1 (1985).) This might happen, for instance, if the suspect threatens the officer with a gun. The Court, however, indicated that officers should issue warnings when possible. It also held that deadly force is unjustified when the suspect poses no immediate threat to the officer and no threat to others.
He was subdued, he was handcuffed, face down on the asphalt. He was no longer able to do anything. The officer however kept his knee on his neck through several minutes of pleas for air until he expired. None of the racists here would be approving of this if the cop was black and the man on the ground was white.
Again, what gives you the right to armchair quarterback the decisions made by police in a real-time scenario? Are you the arbiter and final authority on use of force by law enforcement? Are you or were you ever a police officer? If you don’t know what it’s like to deal with a suspect that starts getting violent with you, and you have no idea if he has weapons on him or not, then you shouldn’t be making any comments related to what is the appropriate use of force and what is not.
If you think a suspect being handcuffed prevents them from continuing to get violent then you are woefully misinformed.
Putting bracelets on a suspect doesn’t eliminate the threat. It mitigates it to a degree but they aren’t some kind of magical device that immediately pacifies a violent offender.
Sure enough I was not there. SO we will have to wait for the official report. Again, the officers were fired. That is a very uncommon remedy because great leeway has always been granted to officers.
This thread is definitive proof that Americans are weak pussies. Imagine caring what your ancestors did so much that you have to be apologetic to black people hundreds of years in the future. You deserve to have your own country torn apart by your inferiors…while you apologize in the process. Cucks.
