Mainstream dems aren’t communists, they merely want the standard of living to improve for Americans-cheaper healthcare, higher wages, rule of law in government and protection for minorities. The USA already has some elements of socialism-libraries, a post office and health care for the disabled and elderly. The percentage of assetts owned by the super rich has never been higher while wages have stagnated for decades. The USA can do better and many other democracies beat the USA in these areas and have better outcomes for education. Additionally, we need to transition away from carbon based energy and make the environment better. We should be going this route and now is everyone’s chance to work towards having a better country.
The communist element fringe is only that and is limited to the progressive extremists. It is not shared by the mainstream party.

I think the thing that did the GOP in was when Mitch McConnel rejected the $2,000 stimulus checks that Trump signed on to. That was the kiss of death for the GA Senate election. You’re right, mainstream Democrats aren’t communists or socialists. They are just like most of us on the right… they just tend to hold social values as more important than fiscal values. That is really not a problem for me. They are generally good people… just like those of us on the right are generally good people. The problem is, the Left has been taken over by the radical progressives. The Right has been… well… I’m not sure but, they aren’t the Right I know anymore. Neither party is what they once were. The problem in that lies in the FACT that most of America is Centrist… leaning a bit one way or the other. The country/people needs to take back it’s government.
