Illegal immigrant convicted of assault last month among 3 arrested again in sanctuary city robbery

An illegal immigrant from Brazil who remained in Massachusetts under local sanctuary policies despite an assault conviction and federal detainer last month has been arrested again on robbery charges.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) placed a detainer on him, but the city jail cut him loose without warning the feds.
Framingham leaders began exploring how to establish it as a sanctuary city in 2019, according to the New Boston Post, a conservative news site.
Lucas Vilaca Moreira Fontenelle, 21, is among three illegals accused of robbing a Brazilian bodega in Milford, a town of about 28,000 residents, 40 miles southwest of Boston.
Fontenelle received a suspended sentence on Dec. 11 for two counts of assault and battery with a firearm in nearby Framingham, according to the Boston Herald.
Now, Fontenelle is accused of obtaining another gun, putting on a mask and barging into a butcher shop in Milford with another illegal immigrant and stealing more than $1,200 in an armed robbery on Jan. 9, less than a month after his release from custody.
The third suspect was waiting outside in the getaway car, a dark gray Dodge Durango.
Milford police said they arrested him at a Holiday Inn Express on Jan. 15.
Earlier that day, police arrested Daniel Generoso, 26, another Brazilian citizen who entered the U.S. illegally and is accused of taking part in the robbery. Police arrested him following a “prolonged” standoff at a house in Milford.
ICE has placed a detainer on him as well as a third Brazilian named Jonathan Lima de Araujo, 19. Araujo was arrested without incident, according to Milford police.
It was not immediately clear when Fonetnelle and Generoso entered the country.
U.S. Border Patrol arrested Araujo in May 2021 and let him go under the condition he check in with ICE, according to the Herald report.
The Boston office of ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations, which requested the detainers, said on X that detainers are a “critical tool” to protect Americans against public safety threats.
Just last month, Customs and Border Protection reported a record number of migrant encounters at the southern border with more than 302,000.

Out of the 109 detention requests that the New York City Police Department (NYPD) received between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023, NYC honored zero ICE detainers, according to a yearly report of citywide compliance statistics. Accordingly, this meant 109 illegal alien suspects were released from NYC lock-ups and not held for ICE to assume custody of the deportable criminals. Therefore, no illegal immigrants in NYPD’s custody were transferred over to ICE during the 2022 - 2023 reporting cycle.
Altogether, there were over 10,000 ICE detainers that NYC officials defied, meaning more than 10,000 fugitive aliens let loose:
- 109 detainers defied (2022 - 2023)
- 157 detainers defied (2021 - 2022)
- 1,485 detainers defied (2020 - 2021)
- 2,103 detainers defied (2019 - 2020)
- 2,916 detainers defied (2018 - 2019)
- 2,291 detainers defied (2017 - 2018)
- 1,023 detainers defied (2016 - 2017)
Taxpayers foot bill for relocating migrants who want to leave Chicago
It’s the secret side of Chicago’s migrant crisis.
Some migrants who arrive here don’t want to stay.
More than 35,000 migrants have been sent to Chicago since 2022, mostly from Texas. The question is, who pays for them to leave?
Some asylum-seekers coming to Chicago from the border, at a sizable cost to government agencies, are then going somewhere else.
The ABC7 I-Team asked Illinois state officials for information on how many migrants are coming and going. An ABC7 data investigation reveals this double migration, the coming and going, is running up the tab for a crisis that already caught Illinois by surprise, and continues to stretch government resources and finances.
Migrants have been flown into Illinois from Texas, expelled by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. They have also been bused here by the thousands from the border zone.
People fleeing their homeland have become points of political contention, sides of humanitarian debates and figures on government ledgers. Even as more asylum-seekers arrive here, some continue to leave.

The I-Team filed an open records request to find out how many migrants are leaving Illinois, what that costs and who’s paying?
According to the Illinois Department of Human Services, migrant travel costs in the Chicago area, including people leaving by bus, plane and train, total more than $775,000. And when additional travel related expenses such as rideshares are factored in, it’s almost $850,000 of taxpayer money that has been spent on migrants moving out of Chicago.
State officials say 4,327 migrants have now come and gone. That is more than 10% of the migrants sent to Chicago over the last year and a half.
“The Texas government will put migrants on a plane and, you know, tell them that Chicago is a great place to come, which it is. But you’re saying, you know, this is what Chicago is going to do for you. And then when they get here, they can see that what was told to them in Texas is not accurate,” said 36th Ward Alderman Gil Villegas.
Villegas’ Northwest Side ward houses some Chicago migrants. He told the I-Team he wants federal authorities to take more responsibility for the relocation of migrants here and elsewhere.
“What we don’t want to do is put people in a position where they’re in a place that really doesn’t fit or maybe they don’t want to be here. So, we are trying to accommodate them as well to make sure that they can go ahead and begin their life here in the United States of America,” said Villegas. “What we don’t want to do is further traumatize these folks. We want to make sure that we allow them the ability and the dignity to have a roof over their head, a meal in their belly, until we can figure this out.”
Catholic Charities has provided some of the logistical help in relocating migrants from Illinois. A spokesperson for Gov. JB Pritzker tells the I-Team that before leaving here, Illinois authorities make sure there is a friend or family member on the other end to receive the asylum-seekers, wherever they’re going.
Records show many of the migrants leaving Illinois are going to New York, Florida and Georgia. And some are going back to Texas.

The American justice system under the current Democrat leadership is nothing short of a cry for help. After several illegal immigrants were captured on video physically assaulting a group of NYPD officers, they were released back onto the street without bail.
My blood boils everytime they show that mother fucker flipping off the cameras. Too bad some good ole boy didn’t put a bullet between his eyes right then and there… and then go after the sorry fucks that let him go.

Rapper Blasts NYC for $50 Million Pre-Paid Credit Cards for Illegal Migrants: ‘Maybe Trump Is the Answer’
Ahh, Democrats are handing out freebies to illegal migrants, enticing them to want to stay in the United States once again.
Famous rapper 50 Cent is criticizing New York City for handing out pre-paid credit cards to illegal migrants as part of a $53 million pilot program that will house families who are living in the U.S. illegally.
"WTF mayor Adams call my phone, I don’t understand how this works somebody explain,” the rapper wrote on X. “Can’t explain this I’m stuck maybe TRUMP is the answer.”
The $53 million pilot program, run by the New Jersey company Mobility Capital Finance, will provide asylum seekers arriving at the Roosevelt Hotel with the city cash to help them buy food, according to city records.
In 2020, 50 Cent endorsed Trump for president in fear of having his taxes raised.
"I don’t want to be 20cent” under Biden the rapper said during the campaign.
Over 500 immigrant families at the city’s Roosevelt Hotel will receive pre-paid credit cards to help them buy food and daily necessities. The program is designed to replace the current food service provided at the hotel.
The cards will only be allowed to be used at local bodegas, grocery stores, supermarkets, and convenience stores in the city. Illegal migrants who qualify for the program will be forced to sign an affidavit stating they will only spend the money on food and baby supplies— or else they lose access to the funds.
A spokesperson for Democrat Mayor Eric Adams claimed the program will save the city hundreds of thousands of dollars per month.
“Not only will this provide families with the ability to purchase fresh food for their culturally relevant diets and the baby supplies of their choosing, but the pilot program is expected to save New York City more than $600,000 per month, or more than $7.2 million annually,” the spokesperson for Adams told the New York Post.
The report states that the amount each illegal migrant family receives will depend on the size of their family and how much income they have. For example, a family of four may be provided $1,000 each month or $35 per day for food. The cards are replenished every 28 days.
When people illegally come into the United States, they should be removed. Period. But with the election nearing the corner and Democrats wanting perpetual political power, that’s not how they operate. Instead, they ship millions of illegal migrants to the U.S. and give them free money, food, and shelter— allowing them to stay in the country for as long as they would like as long as they vote for them.
The $53 million has to be coming from somewhere— and that somewhere is almost guaranteed to be coming from other social programs, such as those used to serve the city’s Black residents, which is why President Joe Biden is struggling to keep the vote of Black Americans.
City officials said that if the pilot program is successful, it will be expanded to all illegal immigrant families staying in hotels around the city— which is currently 15,000.
