The whole reason we are GUARANTEED the RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS. And if attention is paid to what the Founding Fathers said about those ARMS, they were to be SUFFICIENT ENOUGH TO FIGHT AN ARMY/ THEY WOULD BE EASY TO GET YOUR HANDS ON/ THE ARMS AND AMMUNITION MANUFACTURERY SHOULD NOT BE TAXED OR LICENESED (TAXED)/
That works in 1776 when the arms of the government and its army were more or less a match up to what civilians could have. But certainly not today.
I have read many of your comments on different subjects here. You seem to be a an intelligent (though perhaps a bit PARTY rooted. I’m a member of the American Party, I don’t vote a Strait Ticket). Surely you are not foolish enough to think that (not all gun owners) WE THE PEOPLE (who are serious about the security of OUR Nation and Constitution) do not have the parts needed to take 10 minutes out of busy schedules of survival to remove the single stage trigger and replace with the 3 stage just like the military. Or, there are those who just know how to keep THEIR mouths closed, and go dig great grandfather’s oiled up old B.A.R. he brought back from WWII. 20 MINUTES to gather components and assemble grenades, etc. You must remember, at least one third of these PATRIOTS have served in the military. I think what we wouldn’t have to begin with, we would certainly soon acquire.
DESPERATE MEASURES
FOR DESPERATE TIMES
What about the bureaucrats who are former (or even active reserve) members of the military? What should their lumping look like?
Perhaps, but who gets to be the judge of the will of the people? You? Me? Them? Sounds good in theory, but the application would get messy.
I don’t understand what you mean by LUMPING.
BUT HONESTLY, I HOPE IT NEVER COMES TO THAT. I JUST HATE FOR PEOPLE TO FOOL THEMSELVES.
That’s very cool…
IF I miss something I’m sorry. I’m slow.

Congressional Convention
The resources of the military are just NOTHING like they were in 1776. For one, there was no real standing army, the founders were mostly opposed to it.
Today, the US military is the best funded, the best equipped, the best trained and certainly the most experienced in the world. The organizational skills, communications and expeditionary abilities cannot be overcome by the citizenry and frankly, all the talk of it in social media forums like this is very advantageous and informative to the government.
Of course it is! And that is why I usually always get around to this part of the conversation. WHO IS A CITIZEN?
I AM A CITIZEN.
YOU ARE A CITIZEN.
OUR NEIGHBORS ARE CITIZENS.
OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS ARE CITIZENS.
PRIVATE BILL DOWNEY IS A CITIZEN.
SERGEANT JAMES FINCH IS A CITIZEN.
LT. WILLIAM MURDOCK IS A CITIZEN.
GET MY POINT? THOSE SERVING IN THE MILITARY ARE GOING TO HAVE FAMILY, BROTHERS, FATHERS UNCLES AND COUSINS IN THAT KIND OF FIGHT. AND THEY ARE NOT GOING TO WANT TO KILL THEIR FAMILIES WHEN THEIR FAMILIES ARE FIGHTING TO KEEP THERE INALIENABLE RIGHTS. I DONT KNOW IF YOU HAVE SERVED, BUT I RECALL THE OATH I SWOAR. AND MY FIRST AND FOREMOST DUTY WAS TO UPHOLD AND PROTECT THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. WHEN THE JOB I WAS DOING WAS OVER, I WAS NEVER UNSWOARN FROM THAT OATH.
I THINK YOU WILL SEE A LARGE SPILT IN THE MILITARY, SHOULD THIS HAPPEN.
GOD FORBID
I do realize this and hear this regularly from those who seem almost eager to see such.
Again, I believe you are sorely mistaken and if you are ever amongst the ranks that take up arms against the US military…god speed.
A nearly identical bill remains on the house side, HB 961, but of course it’s future is uncertain, especially given the fate of SB 16.
if it has to pass both houses, and they struck it on the senate side, it’s kinda dead. No?
I have no idea how it works there, I just saw this on local news.
While SB 16 is effectively dead, a bill nearly identical to it remains on the other side of the General Assembly. As of Jan. 13, House Bill 961 has yet to be referred to a specific committee for any future action.
Well, one less thing to riot about, right?
