If black families had white wealth, economy would be $1.5 trillion bigger

This argument will only result in another 200 years of bottom-rung existence.

Dead on the money. U nailed it.

Actually, the guy who owns BET is one of that 1% with an intact family etc.

You make it sound like North America was the only western hemisphere nation using slaves. The facts:

You will note that North America (US and Canada in case you don"t get it) is way down the list at #6 bringing slaves into country. You will also note that we were #5 in where slaves were actually used:

Hate to distress you farther but US slaves were treated better than slaves anywhere in our hemisphere. Only in the United States has slavery (which ended 160 years ago) been turned into a multi billion con industry. Scumbags like sharpton, jackson and the entire democrat party survive on racial disharmony.

Robert Johnson Sold BET to Viacom a while back.

The simple fact is that one generation is enough.

After the Civil War there was no magic to being white that lifted poor whites from poverty ahead of their poor black neighbors. The number of previously dirt poor whites who became rich was a handful no different than former slaves who became rich even though the latter faced real oppression.

During Jim Crow it was the same, if you were white and in poverty and kept doing as you’d done you’d do about as well as a black man doing the same as he’d been doing … yet at the same time those who worked smarter of either race got ahead time and again … and again Jim Crow couldn’t lift whites out of poverty or prevent blacks from escaping it.

Blacks today face only the barest shadow of what their forebears faced, so much so that they’ve time to be offended and oppressed by inanimate statues and place names and some are so desperate to keep the narrative going that faking hate crimes is become more common.

Black persons who aren’t getting ahead or who are falling behind are not suffering because of white people, but because of bad choices being propagated in their families and their own lives.

Just like white persons who aren’t getting ahead or who are falling behind tend to be their own undoing.

And the opposite is true too … no matter your race if you go about making good life choices your life may not be one of the rich and famous but odds are it won’t suck either.

And it only takes one generation, the guy’s in the mirror, to start to turn it around.

Let me break the news to you that the US is no longer number one in most anything. You paint a rosy picture of a country that gets a D on its report card every four years from the ASCE in all fourteen categories on infrastructure. 4.5 trillion dollars needed to return it to first world status, and that’s just to mention one issue. Meanwhile, even Trump has correctly noted that we have squandered 7 trillion dollars in the ME ALONE, in the past 17 years.

Still climbing are countries like India and China.

Good for him.

Also, “Viacom” may explain BET’s four current series (not reruns or old sitcoms): three are music related (one Gospel, one talent show, one hip hop based drama) and the last is murder porn.

Perhaps for a white American living without persecution and discrimination. The civil war ended, but white America kept its boot on black America’s neck.

You try navigating America the last century with black skin and then tell me about how easy it was.

The problem is most blacks refuse to take responsibility. This isn’t just in poor communities. It resonates up through the entire black community. Their mantra is always to blame whites, no matter what.

BS.

As I pointed out, blacks who were determined to succeed in the old South often did despite the excuses you seek to provide. The simple fact is that most poor people STAYED poor, no matter their race.

As for the effect of that on the current generations.

People do not inherent suffering (circumstances are not suffering). It doesn’t rub off on them from their neighbors. And if you think people cannot escape their circumstances I’ll point you to Botswana, the absolute least educated and poorest place in Africa when it was given independence (but it chose to emulate our founding fathers rather than the socialist / technocrat elites that were then running much of Europe or the Soviets as others in Africa did).

Acting like you do inherent suffering is one of those bad life choices that you make to limit your options. It’s just another way of making excuses.

Black People are responsible for the lot of black people, which is to say themselves individually and not collectively. One generation is enough.

Im going to disagree with you there, us whites didnt have to face “black codes” during reconstruction period after the civil war

Funny thing is Blacks who are blind supporters of the Democrat plantation party falls under this trap
Conservative blacks for the most part dont, I know a few successful blacks including one of my best buds, conservative, has a wife two kids, not into drugs, lives in a good neighborhood, comes from a family with two parents ( who are still together) these people are conservative but are they revered?

No , but BLM looks down on them and calls them names like Uncle Tom

The problem with blacks ( liberals/leftist/BLM/Marxists/socialists) is in the 1960’s they made a faustian bargain with the democrats in return for free stuff and crap.

And the result of that dependency, meanwhile you get blacks like Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams just to name a few weighed both sides and discovered “Modern Conservationism right wing ideology” doesnt see them as “black people or a collective” they discovered success is up the individual not the collective

That is why people like them , Ben Carson , Allan west are successful vs the BLM idiots who whine about things not being fair blah blah blah.

Leftist ideology and extreme left liberalism is mental disease affecting all races

Again, “black codes” couldn’t keep all blacks down nor could not facing them elevate poor white folks from poverty.

The latter is especially important if you want to say they were of paramount importance. Poor people remained poor. Black codes or not.

I never said it did, but it kept a lot of them down in the south, which is why some moved north to escape it
some did and some did not.

poverty in my opinion is a state of mind, it affects all races

take a self made rich person in this country , take his or her assets away and ship them to another country, within 5 years that person is rich again, take a poor person and ship them off to another country and that person will be still poor in 5 years.

Actually, if you take a “poor” American and ship them off to a poor country the odds are that they’ll be considerably poorer in 5 years, given different standards of poverty they’ve got a lot more poor they could still get.

No, of course not, but quite naturally, as an American, and given the conversation at hand, the US is the one that concerns me. :man_shrugging:

Yep, 200 years of slavery followed by the white mans boot on their neck, discrimination, racism and bigotry are all just excuses. The epitome of white privilege and arrogance…

exactly, which is why Ive often said I rather be poor in America vs any where else
