That was only a small part of my job. I was involved in reconnaissance. The area I was stationed at had been highly defoliated by agent orange. By the end of my tour I had been checked out in four different aircraft, including the “Grasshoper”. I wanted to fly the T-28, but it required a check out away from my base area. Our base was never attacked. Thank Goodness!
